Well, it may have just worked with my cat because he was so overweight. He used to climb up on my bedroom windowsill, which had a shelf in front of it, and then not have room to turn around and come back the other way...but of course he would try it anyway, and invariably fall off. Made a really funny sound...sort of "ka-thump-a-thump-a-thump-a-thump" only faster.

Of all my three, Garfield (I did -not- choose that name, and I had no say in the matter at the time ) was the brawniest, but his was muscles built from fighting the neighbourhood bully (Willie) from his adolescence til the time he decided he'd had enough and nailed the meanie. However, Garf was also the one who was most insistent about climbing into bed with me and helping me read my books... Trouble was, he must have thought they were in braille.

Oh yeah, that tends to do bad things to books as well...
My cats, (since yesterday two of them are left; I found the other dead when I came home from doing some shopping ), like to change ME into a swiss cheese. They seem to never learn they should keep their claws in, when trying to climb in my lap. And that's where they try to be ALL the time

Well, he was kind of ridiculous. The sweetest of cats, but not the brightest.

He wasn't old enough... I'd say not even three years old. And the worst part is: there never was an indication that he was ill or anything. One moment everything was ok, the next moment, I find him being a corpse. And he was the most gentle of the three, which made the occasion especially sad I really lost all sense of reality for a moment, and didn't know what to do, what to feel, what to think.
This was the first time I actually found a dead cat in my own home.

Well... how -else- are we to find all those little notes we put at the bottom of the piles that we put right by the monitor the last time we cleaned our desks? You know the ones.. marked "Urgent! Complete by "

Jups, I know that by heart... I *ALWAYS* loose those things when I try to keep it tidy and clean... As long as my desk is a mess, however, everything is found within a second, because it MUST be in the pile of rubble cluttering my workspace ))

You have my deepest sympathy. We lost one of our cats a few years ago. We came downstairs in the morning and found her curled up in the darkest corner of the dining room. She wouldn't eat, had trouble drinking and walking. I took her to the vet, who said that she had kidney failure. There was nothing the vet could do, so she had to be put down. She was only 4 years old - very young for kidney failure.
Jenny was one of the first pets I'd ever had, and the first I'd had to watch being put to sleep. It hurt like hell. (Still does. ;-()
