Or the rather obvious www.starwars.com
BTW, Lucas has now said that eps 7, 8 and 9 DEFINATELY will not happen. It seems that what he had in mind for ep 9 kinda happened in ep 6, so there's no point now.

i have been traling the starwars message bords and what i have come up with is this (so called) Essential List:
Thrawn Trilogy
Dark Empire
Jedi Academy/I, Jedi
Children of the Jedi/Darksaber
Correlian Trilogy
Spector of the Past/Visions of the Future
NJO, following the timetime
and then you read them in any order, seams a little shakey though.

in the front of the NJO books is a fairly exhaustive chronology of the star wars novels. i suggest you read them in that order, but the first thrawn trilogy is an absolute must first, i think.
otherwsie, there are many comics, almost all of which are mostly incidental, but many are fun enough.

Thrawn trilogy - definatley.
I Jedi only really makes sense if you've read the X-Wing series (at least 1-4 and 8 (the Stackpole ones).
I personally like the X-wing series best.
Oh, and don't read to many of the pre NJO series - I find it makes the universe feel very ridiculous in the way that Han, Luke, Leia are always off everywhere.
