'Dirk Gently's Holstic Dectective Agency' and 'The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul'. They are good. Read them.

They are great!
Smell-wise, I love the smell of Candida growing on an agar plate (like freshly pressed grapes), the smell of a heavy growth of Staphylococcus aureus growing on a plate (Mmmm, chocolaty) & the smell of gin (but not the taste).
Odd objects of desire (not real): CCB, Po (Tellytubby).
Odd objects of desire (real): Leslie Judd, Honeysuckle Weeks, Mo Mowlem (what a formidable woman!), Floella Benjamin, that actress who played the heroin-addled prostitute in Fort Apache The Bronx whose name i can't remember - you know, the one with the big gob.

Dirk is ace! Can't say I really thought about whether I fancied him, but he'd drive you up the wall!
Another vote for Alan Rickman, here, but I don't consider that to be in the least bit odd.

Don't think so. He's ok, as far as I can see...

I still claim that fancying Will Self is NOT odd.

I've certanly fancied odder. He's not my cup of tea, but hey, whatever floats your boat. As for Alan Rickman, mmmmmmmm. He's quite nice, but then I tend to fancy baddies.

You know what? After reading this thread I paid extra special attention to shooting stars and actually looked at Will Self. God that man is ugly.

Come on, he's not that bad. Johnny Vegas is ugly, Bill Bailey is ugly. Will Self is, shall we say, an unconventional sex symbol.

It's said that people tend to pair up with someone of similar degree of good looks..................

White Hart Posted Jan 17, 2003
I think Bill Bailey's kind of sweet though...

BobTheFarmer Posted Jan 17, 2003
Very, Very, Very, Very funny.
Not sweet though.

I don't actually mind Bill Bailey. I think he has got a certain charm about him. But objectvely I think he's quite ugly. Just one of those times where personality/talent can mitigate looks I think.
