kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Aug 13, 2002
I'm really fed up with egg. I have been locked out of my account for over a week now! Four phone calls and they still haven't even found out what the problem is, let alone resolve it. Every time I call they ask me if I am typing in an 'o' instead of a '0' in my postcode. this hasn't endeared them to me at all...
As soon as I get access again I will be closing my accounts, they keep saying I'll call you back in two days when we have fixed it. Number of calls they have made to me = 0

Oh I'll be sending that letter to their customer services address as well by good old fashioned post.
I'll be surprised if I even get a reply, never mind any compensation.

Ways to make sure you get compensation.
A) Always send a copy of the letter to the company MD and state this somewhere in the letter, mark it private and confidential and it wont get intercepted by his/her PA.
B) Also send a copy of the letter with the names removed to a variety of newspapers of your choice (might I suggest FT and a couple of internet magazines and possibly your local paper)
C) Also send a copy to your solicitor
With all copies state on the original letter who else has got a copy. The MDs PA should see the reference to a solicitor and pass it up to the boss. The MD will be mortified at the idea of this sort of report getting into the press/magazines of its target customers and rivals.

Big boss at egg is
Paul Gratton, CEO
It might also be worth fowarding the letter on to the rest of the board http://production.investis.com/egginvestor/board/

You could always write a review for the bank etc on a site like www.ciao.com or www.dooyoo.com
(plus you will get the grand sum of 10p in payment)

Right. Well today I've posted my letter to the standard customer services address, all the board of directors, the local paper, and the FT.
I'll also emailed it to the egg customer services address but had no reply as of yet.
I couldn't send a copy to my solicitor because I don't have one.

Supurb...and I'm sure that egg will be delighted to ensure that the story ends with "Egg was more than happy to compensate for all the stress and worry caused by this slip up and have amended their proceedures to ensure it wont happen again"

No not the Tombola I mean the raffle - you know where you buy a book of five tickets and the winners get pulled out of a hat. First three prizes being pretty good. I think I came 12th.
