Record breaking heat wave here. Clear and Hot!!!

Oh... we had the boiling hot and sticky humid weather yesterday... today has been, terrential rain, light rain, moderate drizzle, light drizzle, bright sunshine and warmth, windy and chilli, slightly humid and sticky, still with no wind combined with various types of rain, and/or with bright warm sunshine... I'm just waiting for the gale force winds, snow and hail... then we'd have just about had every bit of weather going

48C outside, 32C in the apartment. It's now past uncomfortable and getting toward unbearable. The cats are suffering, that's what bothers me most. They're as fluffy as sheep!

Well... so far today; earlier, dry, cold. Went out, hot warm nice sun. then drizzle plus nice hot warm summer sun, then rain plus hot warm summer sun, then sun and no rain/drizzle. Then the sun disappeared. Thunder, lightening, for about two minutes, then the sun came out. then it drizzled and the sun remained out... now the sun has gone in, and its terrential rain, mixed in with extgra-terrential rain... though... its just now easing a bit... and I know from William, that about two miles from here, its currently dry...

Yesterday, torrential rain all day. Today, bright sunshine and warm to boot, here in north Wales.

Where currently off centre of the low that has given all the rain. A bit of a lull as the lows centre moves across us.

So its calm,still, blue skies and hot.

Not going to last, half expect a decent day tomorrow, the high over Europe might just give us a rest bite.

Dont blink or you will miss it

Nope. Isn’t going to happen, radar shows developing cloud over the channel which is spiralling towards us now.

Need to think of alternative ways of getting grass cut?

Looks like this is going to be with us for some time.
The holiday plan is to camp in the lake district this coming Friday
(Buddhist festival near Ulverston so we shall see what my karma is like)
A nice start to the day today but sure enough we got rain by mid-afternoon.

Take lots of dry clothes to change into, a good pair of bright coloured wellies so folk can easy identify you when you get stuck in the mud, some mozzy spray to keep then little blighters at bay and plenty of so you got something to do in your tent when the monsoons starts

Wellies, the one thing I forgot, went shopping for a pair today.

The day began with blustery winds, gusting at ~ 20mph/32kph.

Temperature now, 97F/42C, maximum temperature for the day forecast at 115F/46C.

Forecasts for Th & F, highs at 113F/45C and 109F/42C and rain both days.




The climate definitely is changing. Rain in July was unheard of before this decade and has been a regular thing all the summers of this decade so far.

the local weather presenter was interviewed on the local news channel yesterday.
Seems that some boffinsat Sheffield University annouced that lthere is a likely link between our current disturbed weather patterns ,the jetstream,stratosphere and the suns phases.
Whoopydo for them, seems Ive been bleeting on about this since the new year.
Its notscience,these natural events are interliinked, the weather down on earth is directly and indirectly effected by our sun. There is a chain of consequence that can be seen and has been reprted and documented for years. One needs just to have a logical approach to what effects us most , being the weather, to find out what are the mechanisms that effect it.
For those not in the know, the current state of the stratosphere is a warm one, there is noemally a greater contrast of temperature between the polar and equator regions. The greater the contrast the stronger ther jetstream . Given that there isnt are great variance, so the jetstream starts to slow down, meander, stop or has on some rare occasions reversed. There has'nt been a strong Atlantic jetstream all year, in fact it has been stopped by large weather depression many times this year. These large depressions are caused as the warmer polar stratospheric air moves south.
This is the case presently over the Uk and most of Europe.
The trend is set, the present suns phase will maintain a warm stratosphere, this will continue to effect the jetstream and that in turn will allow for what seems as unusual weather to happen.

The Uk will continue to be damp , wet and have unusually low temperatures whilst across the pond in the USA it will continue to be hotter than nomal so creating much more extremes in your already varied weather.

It's been warm and sunny yesterday and today in north Wales.
Put some polish on the car this afternoon so it's bound to rain
tomorrow. Don't blame me though. It's not the jet stream,
the sun or global warming that's to blame for this manky weather,
it's 2legs, the scoundrel.
