Are you suggesting it should have been titled "The Lord of the Ring-pieces"?

I saw it again. It was better the second time. The changes didn't bother me so much. Only Treebeard's indecision still rankled.

Brad Dourif was the best actor in the bunch. He gave an incredible performance.

Nah. My money's on Andy Serkis.

I'm with Queex there.

Brad was good, no argument there. Bernard Hill wasn't to shabby either. But Andy beat them into a box.

I guess that when you know that your face isn't going to turn up on screen that some actors would put in more expression and simply act more and order to make yourself more memorable.

And it worked. Andy Serkis must be so proud of his work in this film.

I wonder if Andy does children's parties.

One thing that struck me as odd was the constant use of adverbs to begin sentences.

"Late is the hour of your coming..."

"Dark have been my dreams of late..."

"Ever has it grown on the tombs of my forbears..."

After a while it seems like a cheap gimmick employed by the writers to sound old-fashioned.

I seem to remember LOTR the book using that quite a bit, at least in dialogue. Maybe it's some kind of Anglo-Saxon thing, we all know the Professor was big on that sort of thing.

I concur that the Proffessor was using it of his studies and not as a cheap trick.

Phryne- 'Best Suppurating Actress'

He was very particular about phrasing. Including ignoring all those end-with-a-preposition nonsenses and correcting his editors.
Has anyone else noticed the disturbing LOTR-Fast Show parallels? (Entry coming soon...)
