I was talking to a nice, friendly girl last night. A very short one. But I think she was the gf of another guy that was there. We talked for a full hour before she asked why I'm so skinny, that must be a new record.

Was she cute?

maybe you should have asked her if she likes tall skinny guys?
And if she said 'no' you could have pretended to look hurt and say 'damn' or something

but whatever you do... you've got to get a girlfriend soon!!

just went to see her but as soon as I walked into her room my mind went blank! So I only spent a minute or something talking to her before I left through not being able to think of anything to say _and_ I've got 2 weeks of exams coming starting monday, so I won't be able to do anything

She was cute yeah. And she got my e-mail adress. But I leave the country monday so asking her out wasn't really an option. And I told you that bet was easy money.

I don't think anyone likes tall, skinny guys. You can usually tell by the disgust in their voice, when they ask what is wrong with you being so skinny.

It's not the tall and skinny bit. It's the chip on your shoulder about it. That's what I keep telling you. A friendly girl won't care if a guy is tall and skinny or short, plump and spotty, as long as he smiles at her and is considerate towards me and interested in her. That's how you tell which are the really nice girls. When you get back home and aren't backpacking any more, you could try taking a bit of pride in your appearance, e.g. not wearing T-shirts which may emphasise your boniness.

Sadly, I have come into this conversation about 2 years too late, and far too far along to read back to find out if Corinth ever found the "girl" of his (I am assuming) dreams.

I would have liked to make the point that usually the guy who is looking for a "nice friendly girl" has blissfully ignored perfectly good (and available) women in their quest for the mythical "Perfect Woman". IF they DO find her, she couldn't possibly live up to the Utopian ideal that the seeker has built up in their mind.

Cant see at gigs, and I've had girlfriends who are significantly taller than me, not a good idea...

Yeah well i'm a six foot tall girl, hell will i have tall kids! ha, i'm so funny, sorry, i'm being sarcastic, yet again, anyway Xan, why r u so skinny? i dont know if its back on another post. I'm back at college tomorrow, i am quite worried, i am generally excited, well only weeks untill i leave, then uni, another years of learning oh fab! why am i making this sound like my diary? and by the way, Xan, and others, you dont need girlfriends/ boyfriends life isn't a quest to find your ideal partner, i would be blissfully happy by myself, after all great friends and family are who i want to share my life with

Xan, there are LOTS of girls that absolutely adore tall skinny guys. If I wasn't already married to one (and almost twice your age to boot ) I, for one, would be following you around ing.

You wait - one of these days you're going to meet a good cook who sees you as an opportunity.

And Buddies were pink. And square. The posters I took down today had all three on them. Pink, white and blue - is that a faded Union Jack I see?
