I may have to do that, FABT. I'm missing out on the wedding of the Norwegian princess today already, so to miss out on ESC as well would be too much!

The UK entry is quite alright.. A bit ordinary though, if I may say so. My favorite is the Estonian entry. I suppose I'm not allowed to favor the Finnish entry, being a Finn and all..

please don't tell anyone and ruin my street cred, but........ I've actually bought the UK entry . That's really put the kiss of death on it. The only other entry I've ever liked was in 1988 when a HM band called Heavy Pettin' failed to get selected for the UK entry

That's a bit a question of taste, I believe..
Ok, that's the compulsory defence speech. You're quite right though, we've had some strange songs in the contest.. On our last attempt two years ago our song was not the favorite of the professional jury, and it was not the winner of the televote, but due to the complicated scoring system they had come up with, it ended up with the most points. Hence the lame ballad. In 1998 Edea's Aava was not (in my opinion) a bad song but the timing was wrong. It was the kind of song that might have done well with the juries. Well, it did score the most points to the Finns in the 1990's. It came in 16th.
This year our broadcasting company did try hard. Maybe it was because for the first time ever it was handled by channel 2 and they wanted to show off a bit that they can do it too.

IMHO this year's UK entry is the best since Catrina (SP?) and the Waves. All the rest since until this year have ben utter forgetable cr*p
On a slightly different vote, when is GB going to wake up and put in a mickey take song, like a few years ago's silly Indian song! About time we all realised is supposed to be FUN!! Like it's a knockout...
