yeh, got the software working relaly a couple days back kind of, took till now figuring out a few things, and lurning some rubbish about digital recording some of which is almost useful to know, but only relaly got stuck in to trying to record properly rahter than just recording to try and figure out how it works, fairly late this evening... And now I've played the dam stupid little chord riff progression thinggy so many times that I keep making stupid mistakes when I play it think I'll do what I've now done what seems like a hundred times, and scrub everythign and start it again I'd forgotten how tedious recording can be Maybe if I'd actually done a bit of guitar practise in teh last ten years it wouldn't be such hard work Hmm... maybe I should just dig those loops out and change myself to a hip hop artist the bass sounds about right though so I've pretty much worked that out now too tired to try again tonight though think I'll go listen to the TV downstairs instead and revarnish the lamposts.

Isn't that a bitch? In my experience the only thing for it is to wander off and try again tomorrow, otherwise things start getting broken.

Yeh, one heck of a bitch; it was probably a mistake to pick that particular chord progression thinggy as the thing I kept playing when figuring the software out, I've recorded short bursts of it loads and loads of time, whilst working out the various functions of the sofware and playing about with it, and now I've begun making a few attempts to record the same thing, but properly to put togheter the first tune, and its hopeless; and just as I've got the software figured out and I'm eagure to go, I have to stop should get it down easier in the mornign I recon : My goal is to have somethign down however awful so long as it sound fairly good to play to my friend tomorrow night before we go to the pub; he's a firm conputer-phob, but also one heck of a musitions; consequently he got a new tape* four track machine a while ago despite us all trying to convince him to go digital

A tape four track? Do they still exist? Wow...
*remembers his old dodgy Vestafire 4 track through a nostalgic haze of tape hiss*

Listening (& watching) the Pentangle thing I taped off BBC4 last night. I was a Pentangle virgin until last night, now I fear I might be a convert.
After having heard Danny Thompson on several albums (Dream Letter & a bunch of Nick Drake) it's to find out what he looked like. And what a *fantastic* player!
