It didn't involve any msuhrooms! I was* goign to have home made chips with one of teh sirloin steaks I got today, but I chipped only two potatos, but they must have been large, as that was too much really, so I just had the chips on their own without the sirloin steak, with a little* sald, some toamto sauce, and about a third of the baguette I bought today from the bakery, with some marg and tomato sauce and chips in it

Pea soup, followed by pork chops with cheesy new potatoes and frozen mixed veg. Then maybe a bit of cheesecake and coffee.

I thought I was going to be alone, but my son got back from his rugby trip early, so we ordered a Chinese:
Salt'n'pepper scampi
Spring rolls
Sweet and sour Chicken
Singapore noodles.
And I could probably cut and paste that into the "what are you having for lunch?" thread tomorrow

Roast bacon, roast spuds, veg.
Reheated in the microwave, because by the time I get to it it will be cold.

I am indeed cooking "chicken with vegetables" tonight.
Place 2 chicken breasts in a shallow roasting dish, and add the following:
1 coarsely chopped pepper (colour at your discretion - I'm using red tonight)
1 sliced courgette
1 red onion, sixthed or eightthed, depending on size
some tomatoes, halved if large or whole if cherry (I'm using cherry tonight)
Some halved parboiled new potatoes
Some portobello mushrooms, quartered
(Normally I'd add half a dozen whole garlic cloves, plus some chopped garlic, but Lucky Star has an interview tomorrow so that's contraindicated )
Drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the lot, add oregano, basil, salt & pepper, and stir it all around a bit to make sure all the vegetables are coated, especially the potatoes. Stick the whole lot in the oven for about an hour at 180; after 1/2 an hour, give it another stir around and put it back in for 1/2 an hour. The vegetables should be beginning to caramelise* round the edges.
Et voila! "Chicken with vegetables"!
