A wee story:
I had a macdonalds for lunch. very bad idea.
I'd had some toast for breakfast and some decaffinated green tea (no sugar) set of walking to go to the Dr's took me about 45 minutes to get there, after that I set off across town to go to the cinema.
After the movie the only food in sight was a macdonalds, I got back home about 3pm *craving* some sugar. like a fool I gave in and ate some biscuits. That threw my blood sugar into a rampage and I fell asleep from about 4pm till gone 7pm.
I've skipped dinner completely, I woke up feelign really groggy and I've just been making sure I eat more fibreous wholemeal/granary bread and more green tea and a little cereal to reset some balence.
That is the last time I go for a macdonalds ever again. No matter how hungry I am - next time I'll wait. (and no more biscuits.)
Clive. (rather grateful he's not a diabetic and is *slowly* learning to wean himself of sugar.)

Badger hall!: you reacted that strongly and your not* a diabetic? I think the last time I ever* ever* have a McD, was when I had one at the MCD near Kings X station. The rolls, that the place had put the 'burgers' in, was stale. not just that* little bit stale you might get at home when you've had a loaf of bread thats been sliced a few slices off sitting in the bread bin a day or so, but a real* stale ness I can't say I was a fan before hand but

Well I'd been out doing a little light excercise (a rare and precious thing) by walking around all morning, no dinner except the carbohydrate sticks in macdonalds, and when I got home if I'm honest I had 6 chocolate biscuits *and* I put sugar in my tea for the first time in weeks.
Basically I gave into a bodily craving when I shouldn't have and paid the price. I don't think I'm diabetic. I hope not.
