Getting up later than usual when during the school holidays ... also sitting on the sofa with a glass of Baileys and watching tv!

Ooooh, just back from a weekend of lots of happinesses...

Watching the pinky sunrise over the Donegal hills

Walking the dog by the waves crashing on the shore, peering into rockpools, or watching him bound through the peaty puddles on a cliff top (not too close to the edge!).

Building sandcastles on the beach, even though it was freezing

Sipping Guinness by a peaceful harbour

Driving through Barnesmore Gap and promising myself to bring my bike here in the Spring

Escaping mobile phone and internet service

Watching whatever movie was on on the 3 available channels, accompanied by pizza and sticky toffee pudding, and a roaring fire.

Seeing the dog back to full health, complete with boucning and chewing.

That sounds smashing.

Happiness is playing a bluesy rocky noodle in A minor on a Telecaster through a slightly dirty amp.

Yeah, sorry about the lack of solidarity, for I do support you in your campaign against Diago, but...well...Donegal without a pint of stout is unthinkable!

I have developed a greater appreciation for a good porter of late, so it ain't all bad!

Getting a banana and cutting it sideways with a knife, so that the banana lays flat on a table with both ends in the air (if you follow?).

Then get a Flake and insert it into opening.

Then get some tin foil and wrap it up and place it in a hot oven 150C for about 15 minutes or so - until the skin of the banana has gone black(ish). Then dollop some double cream on the top and ENJOY"

Grate some spuds (don't forget to peel first), beat 1 egg in, add salt/pepper. mix everything well. Heat up pan with some oil in it. Form sort of pancakes and fry on each side for a couple of min.

sleepy-panda, try your recipe with corn instead of potato and a spoonful or two of flour. What you've mentioned is called latkes in yiddish, and is indeed joyful!

Happiness is to have my baby girl wrap her arms around me and kiss my face, or watch her climb the stairs slowly, muttering "bumpy-bumpy"; happiness is cuddling and tickling my little boy and reading him a story that he loves before he goes to bed, or listening to him making happy noises as he eats his dinner which I cooked.
