A Conversation for Talking Point: Special Occasions away from Home
oooh the jolly holidays...

i haven't liked the holidays for a few years now, since i was old enough to not be blinded by the festive trimming bestowed on us by high street stores.
christmas day usually means my mum and i being miserable together because we don't really get on. but due to some misguided sense of tradition, we cook, have dinner then retreat to our respective corners of the house, me hugging my mobile sms service for comfort.
boxing day means going to visit my gran who'se generally poorly, my mum hates my dad, my dad hates being at his mum's and everyone hates his girlfriend!
a break away from the norm sounds like heaven to me, but i am not allowed. no one would ever speak to me ever again. so instead we sit cooped up in a room smelling of brussel sprout farts, listening to grandpa snoring, with no one talking beacuse the tv is too loud (gran's GOING DEAF AS WELL AS SPROUTING A BEARD).
grrrrr the holidays!

aww gee thanks, that would be most appreciated.
the best bit about christmas is the over indulgence of such gems as baileys and kahlua and amurula... mmmmmm luxury in a glass
