Hi I'm one of the welcoming people on the site and we're called ACES (doesn't that sound great) but it really means assistant community editors (which sounds all formal and not so ).

My name is Sally and I'm here to say hello and to help out if you have any problems.

Well, I have been invited here from the good people of Leisure District to bring my tales of misadventure to a new forum. I write mainly historical, literary and cinematic parody and so I was looking for the door marked 'Alternative Guide.' I write in first person, resurrect some of the oldest jokes known to mankind and generally fly in the face of everything that the Guide stands for.

Er.... this is the wrong place is it not?

If the Alternative Guide accepts such nonsense then any hastily scribbled directions on the back of a cigarette packet would be joyfully received.

Yes you are in the wrong place here, but looking at your other conversations I think you've found the right place. Have fun with the writing, I think I'll avoid contibuting as I'm really rubbish at stories.

Did you know that you can change your name if you want, just need to click on preferences. Saves being Researcher ******, which is a bit impersonal, but it's fine if you want to do that. You can also change your skin there, from Brunel to Albaster or Classic.

Having familiarised myself with your space and perused your earlier recommended article pertaining to eye colouration I must say that the title ACE is one that is richly deserved.

Being something of a novice in the whole arena of ocular science I found your discussion both informative and entertaining. In short I was unable to believe the evidence of my visual orbs with a hue determined via light scattering by collagen.

Now, about my right sided astigmatism?........
