its supposed to look like this - piñata (on an apple computer you make the ñ by pressing option-n and then n, I have no idea about other computers)

That is rather pleasing. However, if you have a Windows computer you should be able to insert a symbol in Word, but failing that you can get this rather nice German character: ß

once I used Þ (I think) instead of 'th' for a while... i gave up because it doesn't have a short code.
