Thanks for the welcome. I ran accross this page/universe/Guide right after Douglas' death, and just punched it back up today, because, well, it seemed like the right time.
I'm not a total freak about the Guide, although when conered about why I went to the Feature Film three times, my answer was simply "For Polly".
I take that back. I am not a freak about the Guide, I am however, a total GEEK about the Guide. I did just learn about Towel Day, what a hoot!
I skimmed over the Guide guideline, the total which can be summed up as "Don't be a tool". (If, in fact, the editors need to edit the Guide's guide, I would like my summary to at least be considered...at the usual rate, of course.)
As for my Guide participation, who can say? There may be an entry or two in my dying to get out, but for now, Im content just to explore Life, the Universe and Everything.

Oh you're quite welcome, we aces have volunteered to greet newbies since we ourselves were newbies at one time. Yes I think the best approach is to just ease in, there's alot to absorb & alot of people to get to know.

Anyway about Feisor's list...a few of the obvious items Feisor mentions are the assortment of <./>smileys</.>, <./>askh2g2</.> and our newspaper <./>thepost</.>. There're alot of smileys as well as alot of questions(& answers)in 'ask'. And there's usually some interesting reading in our newspaper, not to mention it giving you some idea of the other researchers & what they're intersted in.

But further down the list you'll find The h2g2 Post's Links Page, that'll give you access to numerous other points of interest. Just one example is the Researchers'(global)Map at A5076614.
