Avenging Washcloth, An unhurried sense of time is, in itself, a form of wealth.

Well ... this is it. The last day in the apartment where I've lived for the past ten years and three months commences in about eight minutes. Most details of the move are finished and ready to go, although the inevitable last-minute push to gather the remaining bits will face me tomorrow. smiley - erm

I'm going to miss the trees and the view of the sky from where I sit in front of this computer. I've seen a lot of rainbows through this window ... let's hope they are promises of the good things to come.

*a little sad*

Oh, by the way ... I may not be around for several days starting sometime tomorrow. This, of course, depends on how sucessfully I am able to connect to the Internet at my new digs. I could get lucky, you never know. Considering the smiley - bleep I went through to get the DSL working with some p-poor technical support last time, this could take a while. Thus far, the DSL company has sent me *no* installation kit whatsoever. No code for my modem ... nothing. I'll see how far I can get with a few phone calls. Cross your fingers.

There's more information on my fan club backlog if you're interested, Michele. smiley - hug Sorry to make you read it, but hey, I don't have time to write all the boring details again at the moment. smiley - winkeye

Thanks to everyone for your well-wishes. smiley - biggrin I'm signing off at my old place now ... hoepfully, I'll be back before you have the chance to miss me. At least I have confirmation that the DSL connection is established at the new place ... although I've had no opportunity to set up the computer there to test it. smiley - erm Since the non-existant instructions are *so very detailed* , I should have no trouble at all.

smiley - hugs everybody. smiley - biggrin

Well I went through the backlog in leaps, but didn't find the one where you described the new digs smiley - erm So I guess I'll just have to imagine what the new place looks like:

A nice little bungalow by the ocean, with a new smiley - towelbar in the kitchen so that AW can hang out when she needs to rest. Gentle breezes make the orange polka-dotted curtains in the kitchen sway back and forth. There's a big, overstuffed green paisley sofa with a lovely chartreuse afghan that Lady Scott knitted in the living room. "Somewhere Beyond The Sea" by Bobby Darin is playing in the background and AW has made a pitcher of lemonade and some lavender/cashew cookies. Halfway between the house and the beach is an outcrop of rocks that overlooks the water, it also hides the hot tub where you can soak, relax and watch the sunset over the ocean.

I'm sure it's very close to what you new place will look like isn't it? smiley - bigeyes

Michele, I think it's going to be hard for AW to commute from an ocean-front home to her job in Ohio. smiley - headhurts

Talked to her a bit and she says the move "went extremely smoothly except for the hyperventilating and urge to barf."

Thanks for the links Lady Scott! It saved me from another evening of reading through AW's fan club back log smiley - groan...

She shouldn't feel bad about moving in with her mom. smiley - erm When my daughter's father and I broke up (my daughter was 3 years old) I moved in for a short time with my sister (She was divorced with two small children) while saving up money for a deposit and 1st & last months rent on an apartment. My father had been in kidney failure and on dialysis (three times a week) for a couple of years while waiting for a kidney from the National Organ Doner list. So my mom asked me to move in with them and help her take care of my father. smiley - smiley

After my father died (my daughter was 5) my mom and I bought a house together. My father's illness had used up most of their savings, so it was the only way she or I could afford a house at that time. It's worked out well for the most part, except that on occaision my daughter and my mother fight like cats and dogs! smiley - cross My mom and I get along quite well though!

You know "occasion" is one of those words that I constantly question myself on how to spell it. I always have to look it up! I wish h2g2 had a spell checker thingy on it! My daugther has carted all the dictionery's up to her room for homework, and now I have to type the word in question in "Word" and do a spellcheck there before I post. smiley - groan

So until I can rescue another dictionery (ary?) from her black hole of a teenagers room - you'll just have to live with my misspellinggggsss! smiley - cheers
