, Kerr. I've been offline for a while but was thinking about this two nights back and realised 4F was more likely. Never knew it was Williams rather than Thatcher. Van

And it's the first in the new series, not another special, right? I've not heard anything concrete, but the interview I read in this week's Radio Times appears to indicate that the series is imminent.

I don't suppose anyone saw the Tweenies this morning and the Dr Who reference in that?

strangely no.
But I did see the episode (8 I think) of Leverage (US proggy about modern day robin hood style con artists. Same sort of thing as Hustle for those who have seen that) where the lead guy is listing the false identities he has with him. He says "I've got a Peter Davidson, Sylvester McCoy and I have a Tom Baker" and his accomplice (Gina Bellman from Coupling) responds with "I have a Baker - Sarah Jane". Someone on the show is clearly a long time fan of DW!
Although I guess the link could be Gina herself.

Seems they are DW fans.

Matt Smith is contracted for this series (13 episodes), a christmas special and a second series (presumably 13 episodes.) There are all sorts on the BBC DW website and they'll be posting the first minute of episode 1 at 18.30 today. Check out the spoiler thread if you're interested.

They showed an exclusive clip on Jonathan Ross last night (Matt Smith interview) from episode six, apparently titles 'Vampires in Venice'. It looked good!

Well, only days to go so I thought I'd post a trailer I haven't seen on here yet! Roll on the weekend:

Did I hear the Word Xenomorph on that trailer? If so Is that THE Xenomorph?

Very interesting. Do you think there'll be an evil cat arch-enemy?
Doctor Who
Galigan Posted Mar 31, 2010
Hmm, interesting. Not sure how I feel about that. It looks like half a quite dramatic series and half kiddy stuff, mainly because he's a robot dog. Very undecided but probably won't be watching that if I'm honest.

Me neither.
In fact given the general Whovian response to the trailers I'm quite surprised I didn't get a load of s thrown at me for posting it

One of my flatmates saw the clip and his word for Matt Smith's portrayal is "goofy". Having seen the trailer, this very much sums up my worries at this point.

For those who didn't know (like me - I just found out by accident), the Sci-Fi channel here in the UK are running a 'classic' Doctor Who weekend all over Easter. Ark in Space is on at the moment

I'm tempted to dig out the VHS but then I'd be *forced* to watch The Sontaran Experiment, Genesis of the Daleks, &c and where would it end? TODAY AT 18.20!!
