I am done.
Finished.
Finito.
Nunca mas!
I am DONE with my Honors Project!
Well, technically, I'll be done at 9 AM tomorrow morning, when I get the last signature, reprint those few photographs that didn't go through right first time around, and plop it on the desk of the Honors Office. But I'm counting right now as being totally and completely done!
*Scurries off to work on GIS*

*Wanders through with a blissful smile on her face.*
It's going to be a few days before I realize I can't continue to take it easy. I'm probably going to draft my GSA poster sometime today, maybe tonight after a few drinks.
Of course, a last minute curveball was thrown. I elatedly delivered the news to my advisor, and he asked me if I had gotten a copy of my signature page. When I said no, he made the exact face, which made me run for the office to beg for a photocopy. I'm going to have my report bound and copied for future reference, for myself, my advisor, and the department. I heard a rumor that they were putting theses up on OhioLink as PDFs, so maybe I'll try to get mine in that one too. Can't hurt to have a broad audience.

Well, the bit that I get a grade for is done. The rest of it is optional, but it's better for me if I do it.

Congratulations dear ex-geology student!!
And also thank you for your good wishes for my 77th birthday.
Unfortunately I appear to have managed to get myself captured by aliens and have been taken into space. I was also Ran1, and have now had to resort to my new - and I hope temporary name - of Genjoanofac.
Your activities sound awesome. I have never skied but I absolutely love watching it on TV. You have got some marvellous and very charismatic amercian skiers.
I hope you will find the time to chat to an old lady.

I wouldn't say "ex" quite yet! I'm going to graduate school at Penn State.
I haven't done much skiing in the past four years since I moved to Akron- if it weren't for the glacial moraines (really big dirt piles pushed to Ohio by the continental ice sheets 11,000 years ago), I wouldn't have anywhere to do that. Fortunately, since I'm going to be living right on the Allegheny Front, I'll have less distance to travel to ski, and hopefully more time to do it!
Probably not more time- I am going to grad school- but I won't have to travel as far, at least.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I am afraid I do not know the geography of the USA at all. I was born in Africa and jave ived in England for the last thirteen years.
I thought that you have your BSC Geology. And then I saw that you were an Honors student.
I wetn to University when I was 44 and majored in the Sociology of Law. When I left South Africa I had managed to obtain my Masters degree in the Socilogy of Law, and my Masters thesis is in fat in the Library of Congress and the British Museum here in London.
Now I just do research for a biography that I am finishing, and also in the field of mental health.
I shan'nt ask you what moraines etc. mean!!. But I do not know how you can ski on them!
Kind regards

temporarily known as GenJoanofac as I appear to have lost myself in the ether last Friday and am struggling to get my persona back. Websailor is a friend of mine, so you might be able to get my homepage of Also Ran through that link.
Is an advisor like a supervisor? Do they sort of guide you through your thesis?

Yeah, the advisor guides you through it, and then helps the committee tear it apart.
