Many, many years ago, when I was a college senior living off-campus, I was at a party given by my sister and her husband. I brought a date. My brother-in-law put so much rum (or whatever) into the eggnog that I was too to escort my date back to her dorm....
This is one of the reasons why I no longer drink.

Ah, probably a wise decision...I try not to overdo it. A friend cited a...'1-2-4 rule'(I believe it was. One beer, possibly a second, but an hour later-as opposed to one-right-after-another. And no more than four a week...it seems to me that was the gist of it.

That sounds like a sensible formula. Not that I drink beer. If (and it's a big if) I were to drink alcohol, it would be a bit of good champagne or sherry or schnappes. I keep burgundy and white wine on hand for cooking. The guy I bought it from said that you should not cook with any wine that you wouldn't enjoy drinking.

I could use a good around here. The place is in need of a sorting and cleaning.

Happy New Year!
My neighbors did a load of fireworks last night. Thankfully, they started early and quit before midnight.
Today is a bit drippy weather wise. Tomorrow, we start inventory at the store. I'm hoping that since the scanner made it much faster last year that having already done it once with the scanner, this year will be even faster.

I spent New year's Eve with some friends, and then slept over at their house. They have twelve cats, which made things interesting during the night. Several cats visited my cot during the night. In the morning, they served waffles and a nice omelet.

Hmm,"These cats do no cooking", conjures up images of a Jazz restaurant, menu reading something like "...& our special, whipped up by the culinary s in the kitchen..." *insert ersatz sax noodling *

I never saw "Gay Purree," but I enjoyed the sound track album.
