h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

So much for the forecast which said 'Sunday will be sunny and....'. It has rained since yesterday. It's overcast and gloomy outside. The forecast also said high around 70F. Yeah, it was 56F last time I checked. The low tonight might be 36F.

I have been typing the handwritten notes for my Nanowrimo novel. It's 1847 words so far, with still more to type. I'm happy though, because it is a story I wanted to write and its lengthier than previous writing projects.

Oh, and today the same television channel is showing a marathon of the three Star Wars movies I like.

Back to work, tomorrow.

I'm glad your Nanowrimo novel is working out for you - stick with it. You can influence what you are doing with that; the weather is a different matter.

I think my area (Boston) got the weather you were promised. Sunny, temps in the 60s (possibly close to 70). We had rain recently, so maybe those who control the weather thought we had gotten enough for now.

I try not to look at the weather forecasts. It'll only disappoint.

Yay for NaNoWriMo! We haven't heard much out of you lot. Good lord, I wonder why?

It's 4 p.m. and noticeably colder outside. There's a thick dark cloud cover. Local television station says Currently 48F for Baton Rouge on their weather map. http://www.wafb.com/category/218672/current-temps

I still have pages to type that are handwritten. It might be 3,000 words by the time I finish with that. Don't know if I can add much more before the end of November, but I'll probably finish the story just to finish it.

Synopsis

The war in Europe is suddenly brought to this little secluded village on the Bayou. The oldest son is MIA. And, stranger things are still to happen at home.

Excerpt

Angelle did not move. Jean quietly crossed the room to stand beside Papa at the window. A soft tap on the ceiling which was the floor to the room above told them that Paul too was awake, holding a loaded shotgun and like his father and younger brother, keeping a watchful eye on the surrounding area.

There's some sort of literary rule about featuring items (shotguns, etc.) in an early chapter or scene, with the assurance that they will be used by the end of the story or play.

I sense that that shotgun will be used.

But maybe the shotgun will be used in an unusual way. Might someone hang Christmas ornaments on it, or use it as an oar in a boat?
