The Calm Before the Storm
Evangeline Started conversation Feb 25, 2004
It is a very unpleasant feeling to watch something unfold in precisely the worst way possible, especially when you could see it coming. And, that seems to be happening a lot lately. Never been much on watching car wrecks, train de railments etc.
Or really bad movies, for that matter. Please, don't ever make me sit through "Titanic" again...Ever! I did *smack* the person who made me watch "Rocky Horror Picture Show". It's so bad it's good, is not a good thing....

I can agree with you on both counts hun; Titanic & Rocky Horror ...hey, I haven't sat through either myself, far be it from me to subject anyone...

There isn't much anyone can do about the RL events that are bothering me, except wait.
The documentary about what really happened on the Titanic was far more interesting than that movie.
As for The Rocky Horror Picture Show... I saw that when I was 16 at a Midnight movie showing. The friends didn't bother to ask me if I was interested. They just dragged me there as a surprise celebration(of something that probably wouldn't translate). I kept falling asleep...to escape the awful movie...and someone had the nerve to wake me up, so I wouldn't miss it. Just recently had someone watch it on cable and tried to make me watch it with them..."'cause it's so *bad* that it's entertaining". No, it's just bad
.
I remember movies with plots and dialogue and even a bit of good acting. Those are so few and far between, these days.

"Titanic" was a two-video set. I got through the first one, and didn't bother with the second one.
"Rocky Horror Picture Show" was pretty weird, considering that Susan Sarandon nowadays would *never* be caught dead (or alive, or anywhere in between ) making such a movie.
But why are you calling this thread "Calm before the storm"? If you're doing it to talk about bad films, shouldn't you be talking about storm-related films like "Perfect Storm" or "Twister" or "Wizard of Oz?"
(Or "Prospero's Books," or "Their Eyes Were Watching God," or....)

Aside from this over here, that there, and this other thing, that I'm running out of patience with and can't do anything about except watch. Everything else is okay.
How are you?

Well, I do alot of improvisin' (whatever "feels" right ) kinda stuff, if you're comfortable with that.

Most of my recipes are lists of ingredients with the instructions of combine, depending on mood at the time of cooking.

But, yeah I'd like that sometime...one of the recipes I submitted to that Death By Curry site was for curried tofu in a coconut milk sauce, I believe with potatoes & okra.

This is a little something I threw together, because all of my conversations started to turn to food and cooking:

Nice, I almost had to stop reading your conversation with Lady Scott about what's cooking because I was starting to drool all over my keyboard! lol A site I'd passed on to someone awhile back-even though I do most of my cooking-is for a restaurant delivery service here in the city...gives a bit of an idea of the local restaurant scene. It's: http://www.dialanddine.ca Oh, my brother used to work at The Louisiana Purchase & I'm reasonably close to Da De O. Hmm, could've swowrn Louisiana Purchase was on there...the cities first Cajun restaurant...really great! Also want to try a newer place called Cafe O (for "Orleans"..apparently the chef/owner has actually cooked/honed his craft in The Big Easy).

I had forgotten what dinner Lady Scott and I had discussed. That was really what I cooked for New Year's. It was good too...no one minded the lumps in the cake frosting either. Apparently, enough sugar and cocoa will fix that.
I'll take a look at the link...

That is a great idea, a restaurant delivery service. Unfortunately, they don't deliver anywhere near here, for those nights when I am absolutely too tired to cook.
