Lucinda, collapsing them into one post would screw up the post numbering, so if someone had said "check out post xxx", where "xxx" came after the flood, they would now be pointing at the wrong post. How about just campaigning for a shorter moderation message, say :

Post #xyz [Removed]

where "[Removed]" is a link to a page explaining the reasons for removal...? Thus, a block of ten flood messages would squash into ten lines of text... smiley - winkeye

A moderator message wouldn't have to. If it's "Removed" there's no need to waste space with Subject or Poster, and you don't need reply buttons etc. Just one line of text and an ... smiley - geek
