if microsoft does software so right, how come the nt administrators at various sites keep popping along to see people runing samba under linux to ask how they manage to keep their "windows" file sharing uptime so high?

While there are a lot of things microsoft are very good at, writing good and stable software that does what it is designed to do, and doing it efficiently and effectively is not one of them.

Whoami - iD dislikes punctuation

On Microsoft - well, their consumer products are a bit pants. (We need a smiley, preferably emblazoned with alabaster smiley - winkeye However, the systems that run h2g2 can't be complained about. smiley - biggrin (Oh, apart from when they break. But this shouldn't be happening so much now, I'm led to believe smiley - winkeye)

IE5 Mac isn't at all bad. IE for PC is not something I agree with due to the way it's marketed, but then Opera has banners and Netscape isn'e exactly my favourite... smiley - geeksmiley - cake
