I think I started on H2g2 in May 2001, so I'm *almost* as new as Amy.

In two months, I'll have been here a decade.

Happy 8th hootooversary Amy less than a week until mine too. Can't quite believe it has been this long!

Hmmm. Was just browsing who's online and found a couple of non-h2g2ers older than me - didn't think the other communities had U numbers before SSO. One of them may be an ex-hootooer (The Stranger who I think may once have been Kaz), but really don't recognise the other (Ed Moorish). Am I wrong about the U numbers?

There were also the DNA forums.

There are too many ex-Hootooers, people who used to be regulars but who left.

The h2g2 and DNA Unumbers predate the BBC website.

I know *that*--but wouldn't that mean that there should be no smaller Unumbers on non-h2g2 BBC sites (unless their Italic-equivalents have smaller numbers, like ours used to, preDNA, or an old h2g2er cut all h2g2 ties and is on other BBC sites...)

I have tried to resist coming back until I have at least completed one of my tasks.

Congratulations on the membership. Gnoman has found my very first posting. I must now go and look for it and see when It was exactlhy. I believe tht it was in 2001.

Am busy doing some fascinating brain exercises to try and repair the stroke damage. I actually think that it could be working. what a joy that would be.
