Seeing as you dont know who I'm talking about, its safe to use christian names, but for the same reasons, it feels like I should use screen names.....
Today marks the passing of soulshine_rainbow from the travs room over at yahoo and I'm surprised about how bad I feel. I didn't know the guy particularly well - indeed, it wasn't until today I found out his real name and its only the last couple of weeks I really started to talk with him - but its still weird....
You remember what I was talking about with people looking on the outside how they are on the inside and how it never happens the other day? Well, if you did look like on the outside like you do on the inside, qeng (soulies better half) would put Neve Campbell to shame. It shouldn't happen to her, in other words.
Soulie, I've never been so angry for what you've done to her.
Soulie, I've never been so pleased for what you did for her.
Soulie, I was lucky to know you.
Soulie, but for the grace of god, I'd have done the same.
Soulie, the angel tag is yours for tonight.

Rat, it isn't surprising that you feel real grief at the death of someone you barely knew.
Have you seen this? F19585?thread=277219 Bels died about three weeks ago... a lot of researchers have expressed condolences. They are being sincere, and the fact that most of them have never met doesn't discount that.
Anyone who has ever lost someone they were close to feels a bit of empathy for the bereaved as well as the usual sympathy and condolences that are usually expressed. Empathy is the *I know just how you feel* bit that causes the lump in your throat which makes it so difficult to say "Call if you need something".

You said almost everything I was going to say, Evangeline. And then Rat went and said everything *else* I was going to say.
So, in the interest of not being redundant, I will say .

Oh go on, be redundant...
On a more serious note, having lost a lot of friends and relatives over the years, sometimes it's very difficult not to empathize *too much* with other people.

http://rattyslav.netfirms.com/soulie.htm - its only a front page, theres no actual scripts with it yet and it needs putting on a new server and all the rest of it, but all the profits from this are gonna go to mental health charities....
The picture is also a link to his page...

Nice page .
A lot of people don't realize how many other lives they touch with their actions and thoughts.
How are you doing these days, Rat?
