Children, whilst being our future, as someone once said, are not conducive to sleep. Not in any way shape or form. When they're not actively keeping you awake by not sleeping/being ill, then you manage to keep yourself awake wondering why they're so quiet.

Funny, 6 months ago I would have read this and smiled, but ignored it. Now, with our little girl piping up at 86 minute intervals throughout the night, I realise that some things you can be told, but this is one of those facts that you cannot digest without first hand experience.

Too true, I didn't quite beleive how tough it was going to be until it happened. All that bleary-eyed dressing gown stuff was the work of comic fiction....oh no it wasn't.
