Now there's a thought, but wait..nope I remember onw, I tried that tactic for the last five years when I was a Trolley Dolley too and it didn't work then, ah well some you win!!

Biskit, welcome...my remedy is to only drink straight booze, no mix...
if you MUST mix...only o.j.! (Don't you have a pal who could give you a nice pain pill for the next day?!?) One trick -to seem as though you're keeping up-have a tall glass with lots of ice, then keep addeing ice...not as much fun, but you avoid what you're trying to avoid...I make a RULE to only drink in that fashion in the 1st couple dates...since I'm so, er...friendly when I'm in my cups

A bit late but try drinking a lot of water before you go for a drink* then drink about the same again the next day the idea behind this is that a hangover is caused by dehydration.
*about 2 pint one hour before you go.

Drink suggestion.
It's called 'It's Alive!!!'
Put one shot of tequila and one shot of Baileys in a tall glass.
Briskly add a mixer bottle of ginger ale(must be fizzy not flat), and watch.
You truley won't believe what you see.
Once all the action has stopped drink/eat it.
It tastes better than it looks.

She's done it again: final day of finals & she got through 2 glasses of champagne (really sparkling type wine!), 2 pints of lager & a Baileys! She then asks me why she had a hangover in the afternoon!!!! Ahhh, what it is to be young
I will get back about the Civil War stuff - I believe there is an American Civil War Re-enactment Society: wonder if they have a website? The English one does - not terribly good one though!!
Had a really good white wine last night, i.e. it didn't taste of vinegar, - back to the red box tonight!!

Hey there Shirps! Your 'beautiful babe' will wise up, when she's good
and ready, not before! One day, as she's worshiping at the porcelin
alter...the light bulb will come on!!! And yes we do have wonderful Civil War Re-enactments! My road begins right on Lake Erie,
Here in Ohio (US). There are a few islands between here and Canada. On
one is a tall monument to General Perry...Big Naval hero. Each year,
during the wine tastings on the island they have an Re-enactment! It's very interesting...just something about a man in a uniform...
Don't mean to be rude...Hello to TIMELORD & BISKIT!!! Now, falafel waffeltush since you mentioned Bailey's...Why not give my party fav a try?!? If you DARE!!! In a short glass pour 1/3 ammeretto and top with
Baileys! The result is a 'bloody brain'! (the baileys scrunches up and
looks JUST like a brain with lines of blood running across it!) I double dog dare you to try one!?! I suposse you could use other RED types of booze...taste around & maybe you'll find one that you actually like! Pans punch was spiked tonight! I don't know why peole find thay necessary...we are alll able to pour what we want into our glasses!!! I'm on rather strong meds...I thought I was having a stroke or something!!! Now I have to explain to a few non drinkers why they become ill! I made a lovely VIRGIN teq. sunrise in a punch bowl &
clearly labeled it 'VIRGIN' then placed the teq. in front of it, for those who wanted to spike their own! We're way past the age of such pranks! Sorry for ranting...I'm just not feeling well...& I have'nt even tried to lay dowm yet. (it's nearly 4am) Guess the BEST I can hope for is a good case of the spins! I could'nt even clean up after my own party...had to be poured home! I was given several balloons & told if I'm alive...to let then loose at noon...if they're
not seen, my friends will be at my cabin with a battering ram! LOL

I'll try that one on Liz, ie: Bailey's with ammeretto - two fold reason:
to see the psychaedelic (i've spelt that wonrg!) colours & 'cos when we went to Italy some years back, we both fell in love with ammeretto & she obviously loves Baileys!!
Other half has just come in, babbling reasons about going back for coffee to friends! ha!
Know what you mean about a "man in uniform" - I just love seeing either RAF uniforms or the Scots in their kilts !!! I am quite normal - honest!
Eng. Civ. War Soc - been known to frequently drink local taverns dry!!!
Cheers

Just to let you know I found the best way to not get a hangover was to be the designated driver!
By the way - those of you who do drink - try a BMW - Baileys, Malibu and Southern Comfort mixed in equal parts it is Ambrosia for sure but don't have too many!!!

Now that sounds YUMMY!!!
Shirps, you'll have to let me know what your daughter thinks of bloody brains! (Oh & it was Admr. Perry, not Gen...the way I get nit picked on around here, thought I'd best clear that up before I get told off again! One can only eat soo much crow! )

Hi there Pandy
OK, here's how it is ....... beautiful babe home now (Monday 5th 10.35pm!!), going back Wednesday morning. She is "greatly" interested in the brains drink:
a) Could this be counted officially as a cocktail? If so, what name should she ask for?
b) Is the mixture 1/3 amaretto plus 2/3 baileys?
She's out on Wed evening & hopes to try it!!!!!!
The "Graduate Ball" is being held on Saturday, begins at 7.30pm and finishes at 5am - there's a "survivors" photo to be taken at 5am!!!! She & her "handsome hunk" hope to last out. Careful timed drinking has to be enforced!! On top of that she may have to have a viva (oral exam) on Monday - if she's borderline with her results: bad timing or what?
All for now

Hey there Shirps! Tell your beautiful babe to mix 3 parts amaretto
in a short glass with about a shot of Baileys...The drink 'is' called a 'Bloody Brain'. You see, when the tender Baileys hits that potant
ameratto...it scrunches up like a nuns nose in a whorehouse! Then some of the red stuffs gets plopped across the top of the Baileys...because the Baileys is just a bit heavier! Makes for a nasty sight, but it's very tasty! I've won bar bets...many won't drink it...if you can get the barkeep to pour it out of sight...folks have no idea what you're trying to get them to put into their mouths! HA! Please remind Liz-that's a four shot drink!!! CHEERS! Pan

She has it memorized &, if she has enough cash(!!) will try it as soon as possible - I'll let you know what she & friends think!!!
All for now - we've settled in for a girls night (she & me) - red wine & ...... The Blair Witch Project. Ha, bet you thought we'd get a girly weepy film!!!!!!

Hope you like the movie...I thought it stupid! I've recently enjoyed:
Three Kings (action), The Sixth Sense (thriller), and I LOVE action flicks! Why would I think a gal who pounds booze like your Beautiful
Babe would want weepy chick flicks?!?
Hope she like the bloody brains!!!

She's gone! (i.e. back to uni home!) Phew - a couple of weeks rest before she's back for the summer. (only joking!)
The film, hmmm, "many years ago" when I saw the Exorcist I was laughing through the film, but ....... when I got home & started thinking (I do occasionally), oh boy, it was really quite disturbing. This film: I was getting confused between reality & "it's just a film" whilst watching it, but it's not affected me at all. Consider this: basically the whole film appears to have been taken using one camera, by fairly inexperienced kids with a good idea & not the millions of pounds/dollars that all the blockbuster films have to hand. I've watched some thriller/horror films with all the appropriate backup & have thought - rubbish! So on the whole I thought it a pretty good film, but glad I didn't pay for a cinema viewing!!
Liz has recommended Sixth Sense, so I'll rent it out - let you know (I've a soft spot for cheeky grin Bruce W anyway!!!)
Haven't heard from L yet, so presume she hasn't tried the bloody brains yet, maybe saving it for Saturday?!!!!
I'm pretty cheesed off (to put it politely) at present, I've spent the whole evening on the phone trying to organise manning for an art exhibition (2 weekends & 1 week). Why do people have to "get back to you" or "check their diaries tomorrow" or "I'll let you know on the preview evening night" - do I expect too much? It's their club, not mine, I'm just the mug organising everything!!!!

Hi Winterman
She's just been home & read through all this!!!!!!!!!! She has this nasty habit of taking over my 'puter when she gets home & rooting around!! She's too old to put a "kid's lock" on it!! It's OK really, I usually tell her about most things - including (let's not get off the subject!) alcohol!!
