At last I have some more QI's on the way!

Knee-deep in waders day after dreary disappointing day the sifting ceaselessly the slurping sandy silts for those glimmering golden nuggets of Quiet Interestingness Oddness - it is I your humble QI prospector Clive the flying ostrich - I was about to pack in the pickaxe and call it day when AT LAST I have in recent days hit upon a new vein of freakishly peculiar factoids and thus have been watching Sherlock all evening, which I find the perfect vehicle to getting myself in the mood of thinking through corkscrews in the dark.

Now I just have to think of how in the hell I'm going to make these almost but not totally fiendishly unsolvable.

I'll be back when I have my riddles wrapped up inside several folded layers of mystery tied off with a ribbon of cunning.

Meanwhile you are all hereby put on notice - QI is back in business!

This may require several cups of tea and solving the padlock combination on the biscuit tin.

I'll be right back.....

As an aside - does anyone have access to the online journal PNAS (Proceedings of National Academy of Science) - there's something I want to fact check, which I know is in a paper stored there but can't read beyond the abstract.

The pay-wall is proving thus far to be frustratingly unbreachable

MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship.

Looking forward to locking horns with the Moriarty of h2g2's despicably fiendish QI.

May we all prove worthy Sherlocks, although I'm probably more a Mycroft, but will do my best.

Well Rod, we've had the front line troops go over the top, and judging from the body-count they found the land mines I had generously strewn around about, but a few stragglers made it over the barbed-wire netting into no-mans-land.

If you take a torch and follow their footprints it should lead you to relative safety before the next assault. smiley - ok
