Time for another one... I hope this isn't one someone just knows!

J and G would've come all that way for nothing if it weren't for unexpected help in the form of four maps and a roll of duct tape that helped them carry out their travel plans.

Who where when what why? smiley - winkeye

smiley - evilgrin Ware the klaxon!

minichessemouse - Ahoy there me barnacle!

You could make a Good kite out of Some maps and duct tape.

My flatmate says that in Star Wars when they are on about The Force, its duct tape they are on about.

smiley - laugh Yes, yes - a dark side and a light side and it holds the Universe together.

Neither Star Wars nor Lord of the Rings.

The maps & tape enabled them to do something when they got where they were going that they wouldn't otherwise have been able to do?

Mala,

Your timing has let you down - it's a very important anniversary and here in Oz there have been a lot of broadcasts talking about it all. I heard this story repeated just today smiley - evilgrin

I'm afraid that I know the answer (great question BTW) - but I won't give it away - good luck all smiley - ok

MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship.

I'm going to guess, after Feisor's alleged slip, that as it is in Oz it is Botany bay, and that J and G are James Cook and King George III respectively? I don't know where the duct tape comes in, as I doubt it had been invented then. smiley - huh

I have a feeling it's more recent than that - I think I saw a Ray Mears programme about this. Was it someone crossing the outback N/S? A means of collecting water?

Malabarista - now with added pony

Ok, so maybe not everyone, then.

"Water" is a smiley - bluelight, I'm afraid. And they're not crossing the outback.

J and G are Jack and Gene, as Deke has already informed us...
