Q2: Who was the lead singer with The Shadows?

Hmm, Well they backed Cliff Richard, but he wasn't technically a member of the band.

They didn't actually have a singer, to my knowledge.

*THAT IS NOT MY ANSWER*

Bagheera: Spellchecker, Grammarian Pedant, Semiquavering Secretary and member of the Punctuation Police

smiley - winkeye Harry Webb - aka Cliff Richards - was "front man" singing in front of The Shadows.

However, if you mean The Shadows WITHOUT the persona of Sir Cliff in front of them, Hank Marvin did most of the solo vocals.

For a time Hank B. Marvin, Bruce Welch and John Farrar had some well-deserved success as a vocal trio. They SHOULD have won the Eurovision song contest with "Let Me Be The One" in (?1978?1979?) which was the only decent British entry, but it didn't even win the National heats .... smiley - grr

Although there *is* a band called the Shadows with a Scott King, Z and Toy box are right. There was also a band called the Shadows which had Bobby vee as lead singer.

The 90s Blues Shadows, who no-one's mentioned yet- http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=UIDSUB020404011023421241&sql=Bpgem97ykkr5t

*THE* Shadows, the ones with hank who backed Riff Pilchard- http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=UIDSUB020404011023421241&sql=Bwifoxqr5ldke

The Scott King Shadows, witha reference to the Bobby vee Shadows- http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=UIDSUB020404011023421241&sql=B2hvyxdyboola

And some completely diffferent Shadows who released one early 90s EP- http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=UIDSUB020404011023421241&sql=Bk9foxq90ld0e

Right, consider this. I am a British person, writing in the english language on webiste based in England and owned by an organisation that is at the heart of the British establishment. Which version of the Shadows do you think that I am refering to?

An almost totally forgotten outfit from the US whose singer went by the name of Scott King - and I had google that to get any information about him. Or the version started up by one Harry Webb, that has spent some 770 weeks in the UK Top 40, and on which more half of those weeks the songs featured the vocal talents of said Mr Webb. Honestly, some people smiley - crosssmiley - sigh

Now here comes the sting.

Egon got it right. But as he explicitly said that his answer was not an answer, it is Z's answer that counts - and his is wrong.

Q1: Elastica recorded two songs that borrowed heavily enough from other songs to get them sued. Name either.

But Cliff Richard was not a member of the Shadows, they supported him, but he wasn't a member.

Do you want the Elastioca songs or the ones they plagiarised?

Elastica's "waking Up" was pilfered from "No More Heroes" by the Stranglers

Elastica were sued by Wire for using "Three Girl Rhumba" in "Connection", and also by the Stranglers for blatantly ripping off "No More Heroes" on "Waking Up"

Are you going to mark this wrong because I named two bands and you only asked for one?
