Hello, how are you? Nice ambition there! smiley - smiley

Seeing as no one else's been along yet I'll just quickly tell you that I'm not in fact an ACE (Assistant Community Editor), who greet all, you've probably met some around. I'm just me. (Used to be an ACE, had to give up due to schoolwork pressures... guess old habits die hard! smiley - winkeye ) smiley - biggrin I'm sure a real ACE will be over soon to greet you officially.

Apart from deep Microsoft-orientated philosophy smiley - winkeye what kind of things are you into? Ok, so I'm just advertising now: Towels?: A372061, Sweets?: A362882 or silly stuff?: A360721. smiley - smileysmiley - biggrinsmiley - smiley As for any other, more sensible links, I'd better leave that to the ACE's! smiley - smiley

Anyway, that's my little ramblings over! For this post!

That crazy one from the Microsoft vs Heaven page! smiley - smiley

Just a quick note:
Any ACE reading this, please accept my apologies about the dots. I put the dots there before I remembered I shouldn't have. I feel like such a fool! I'm not trying to be something I'm not.

Sorry about that.

Anyway, sorry for interrupting... I'll let you have your say now...

It's OK, I'm an ACE and I don't mind. smiley - smiley Loads of ACEs don't do the three-dot thing anyway. *frown* Anyhow, I ought to do the ACE thing. This conversation or shall I start another?

Gentle...beings,
as I said my english are a lot worse than my face, so,
1) what's all this ACE stuff, ???
2) what's that 3 dots or any number of them, how much do they cost, I have an absolutely useless cretid card issued from Sirius, I actually found in the "Pink Dog" bar

To Insane Endeavour: I am a programmer, what kind of things could I be into? I am a destroyed humanoid, longing to be an android, paranoid preferably.

Guys I 'm new on these stuff, so I don't know where to go to find about you, so spill some info.

Ok, here goes:

1) An 'ACE' is an official Assistant Community Editor. They have volunteered to go and greet all people new to h2g2 and make sure everyone feels at home, which I think, to be honest, we've completely failed at here!
2) In order to let other passing 'ACE's know that someone's been welcomed and to stop there being hundreds of similar greetings, an 'ACE' writing a hello to someone new will end the subject with 3 dots. This is because there are also a group called 'Guardian Angels'. They do pretty much the same as the 'ACE's but aren't official. The sign with 1 dot. People who are both 'Guardian Angels' and 'ACE's sign with 2 dots.

But it's all very confusing, so often they don't bother! smiley - biggrin

Now, I'm not an ACE but I can give you some information! If you want to read our own personal Space's all you have to do is click on our names and you'll go straight to them.

If you would like to know how to use the smileys smiley - smiley like that then the page you want is http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/Smiley#smiley .

I'll give you a few more links around the site if you like.
