I went outside to mail a letter at the mailbox at the next corner.

While I was out, I decided to walk around the Trailer Park and see how the plants were doing in their dormancy phase.

Well, there's not a lot to see. Just dead leaves and stems. A thick layer of snow has already come and gone, pushing the dead matter down. We won't even know where the new growth will be coming up when Spring comes. Oh, well.

Still, it's a very restful sight. The little spruces look remarkably chipper, considering that hostas were planted between them, and stole their thunder. Now the hostas are no more than mats of dead leaves and stems, while the spruces sit there like fuzzy green Buddhas, meditating on the meaning of life, the universe and everything.

I went for a long frosty walk yesterday too. We’ve had a lot of rain leading up to the holiday, and many of the paths were waterlogged and very boggy.

Winters here are generally mild, and I see the new growth coming through from November. At my local conservation volunteering we cut down the hazel over the winter, and it’s always sad to see it with next year’s catkins in bloom.

It is a most glorious day here. Sun has been shining for hours already so I will go for a walk and enjoy Mother Nature

We haven't seen the sun for quite some days here but as I wrote earlier it shone brightly from early in the morning and well into the afternoon. At least where I'm living.
Tomorrow the sky will be overcast all day again.
I must have been doing something right.
Or else I've just been lucky

I totally agree.

First, there's the danger of slipping on it.

Then you might find that no one else will shovel it for you. Lots of potential problems there.

And it's unpredictable. On any given between November first and March 31, you could get anywhere from no snow at all to two feet of it.

This morning (Sunday) mam (94yrs) went "flying" on ice, on her path from door to gate and has broken her humerus bone in her right arm.

life happens!

I've heard that that can be painful.

We had a death in my neighborhood. A man whose back yard adjoins my back yard died on Thursday. He received a letter from the park's lawyer ordering him to take down an addition he made to his trailer. He was given two weeks in which to take it down.

He received the letter two weeks ago, and now he can' because he had a fatal heart attack. .

I seem to be about the only person who thought two weeks was too short a time to get it done. Looking back, the man's heart apparently agreed.

He wasn't perfect (No one is), but I knew where I stood with him.

we are born and then at an unknown time, we die - in-between! Life can be sh - Difference is:- bow down to it and cower or laugh and take it head on!

I can't quarrel with that. It's just that it's a really great song. I can enjoy different versions of it.

classics/rock/jazz and all the rest of music stuff will live long in time.
But one's like that, will also live long, even if the film etc is long forgotten
