Last night, I dreamed that I was on a train bound for the airport [probably Logan Airport in Boston]. For some reason, the train made a lengthy stop across from the house I grew up in. Technically, there's a Catholic church there, but in the dream it was next to a train station. Bound for glory?

Since my house was just across the street, I figured I would have time to go home, shower, and put on a change of clothing. I was wrong. Just as I was approaching with my suitcase, the train left me in the lurch.

I figured that I could just catch the next train, which I did. We might get to the airport just in time for the flight to Japan. Again, wrong. The plane was just starting to move down the runway as I got to the gate.

Here's where the dream got even weirder: To get tickets for the next plane to japan, I had to go to the Japanese section of the airport. They didn't speak English, so I climbed a strange, rickety ladder to the area where English-speaking representatives would help me. Naturally, I didn't have the airline tickets with me, so I had to pull out a credit card [the kind that can only be found in a dream, as Discover and Mastercard are not dream cards.].

Is there any wonder why I dread travelling regularly?



P.S. By the time pulled out the strange credit card, I realized that it was just a dream....

I used to have similar dreams but it was different as I was either on a train or bus which I was on but did not know where I was going or I if I knew where I was going I never reached my destination because the train/bus would stop half way where I had to get off. When I used to dream about travelling by plane, the plane either never take off or land far short of the airport on an abandoned beach. All my bus and trains dreams either have no other passengers or only handful and or either based in the country side or far in the future. I even dreamt I could drive ( I cannot drive a car) a car but it was a flying car that was forever taking me to an abandoned London where I would end up at Oxford circus shopping area where was on shop assistant and very rarely any other shoppers.

I also have anxiety about travelling long journeys.

I like the fact that the bogus credit card clued you in.

I had one the other night: I was riding around in a strange city in a car. What woke me up was the horrible realisation that Elektra was driving...Elektra can't drive...

"Is there any wonder why I dread travelling regularly" - too many folk travel without being 100% alertin their own little world inside a car etc.
Treat everyone one the road as idiots that way, you remain fully alert at all times

Actually, there was a group of about half a dozen who also missed the train with me.

Probably we all eventually got to Japan for the tour, but I don't know if any of us had the cell phone number for Gloria [the member who always knew what was up] or Jonathan [the director].

They had names???

My last memory of a dream was that I discovered that I had my friend's phone in my handbag - and it was several weeks since I had seen her.

Last night I dreamed I was at a prep school for a vacation, and I agreed to write an original musical for everyone to perform on the last day, televised. It was down to the wire. There wasn't time for everyone to rehearse, so it was more of a concert version, so people could read from their scripts and scores, with some narration by yours truly.

what do you eat before bedtime ?

Yogurt usually.

I was going on a journey and reminded myself to pack the charger for my cell phone as soon as I had packed all my medicine.

But the strangest thing happened: I forgot my medicine. And of course consequently also the charger...

Sadly this was not a dream

But since it was about time to stock up on medicine anyway I just phoned my and subsequently walked into the nearest pharmacy and got what I needed. (Receipts are by default sent to a server that every pharmacy has acces to)

But it got me thinking. Of all the stuff I need I *always* remember my medicine and my charger. How on could I forget those items this time

Do I need ask whether you could have bought a new charger where you were?

I probably could. But a charger for this ancient (almost steam powered) cell phone probably cost more than a new phone

I chose the alternative: Switching off the phone most of the time and only checked any messages a couple of times per day. No problem. There was still 'juice' enough on it when I got back home

My land line has a message service. From any phone anywhere in the world, I can check in and see if any messages have been left for me.

I don't have a land line any more. But my cell phone has the exact same service

Having commuted on British Rail for many years, I have an occasional dream that the train arrives on time, and I don't know how to cope with it.

... .. . . .. ...

This was by no means the darkest dream I've had. At least no one died. I didn't go to prison. The world didn't end on a Thursday with an extra-terrestrial asking what I'd say if he said he wasn't from Earth.
