Actually, I was flying west, not east. Sorry about my confusion. If I had been one of the three Magi, I would have drowned in the Pacific.

Your confusion is quite understandable. A long journey like that will do that to anybody. Oh well, no harm done

I think I've recovered from my jet lags by now. It usually takes about a week.

when me and my 2 mates holidayed in Los Angeles, we didn't fly east or west
we flew up from britain over the north pole and down - the shortest way

We weren't quite so lucky. We flew over the South of Greenland, changed planes in New York and only one hour later flew on to Los Angeles. We were pretty knackered on arrival
5 days later we flew back to New York, stayed there for 5 days then flew home to Copenhagen.
Flying east jetlagged me more than flying west. Flying west made us dead tired but flying east confused me
In New York we stayed at the famous Hotel Pennsylvania across from Madison Square Garden - and I just now heard on the radio that MSG will be torn down and rebuilt somewhere else. Funny coincidence they should tell that on our news right now!

Flying east usually gives me worse jet lag than flying west. When I flew east from Maui to Boston, I was wiped out for days.
