I didn't see that movie. Bruce Willis makes spme appallingly crappy movies, which is a shame, because he has talent.

He was great as a mild-mannered guy in "Death becomes her." Then there are the films where he plays a tough guy. And sometimes he makes fun of his tough-guy image. He was fine in the TV series "Moonlighting." I think it's clear that he knows where his talent lies, and what will work for him. That doesn't lead to very many great movies, though. smiley - sadface

That means he's rational. It's okay to want to make movies that make money. If you're bright enough to know what will please your audience, then you have a skill for connecting with people. But some people can connect with audiences and create art at the same time. Some of the the most popular movies of all time are also considered among the best. I don't think that's likely to happen with very many of bruce's movies. But he seems to be happy as a clam, and people go to his movies...

I agree, there's some films you can watch over and over, but others even big budget ones, once seen not bothered again

Unfortunately, there are some movies that I can't even see *once.* I've been known to leave movies halfway through. smiley - sadface

There are still some theaters in my area. They lure people in with large, comfortable seats, in-house coffee and snack counters, and 3-D movies. There's even a luxury level where you can have dinner served while you watch. smiley - smiley

Mudhooks

I liked Bruce Willis in "The Fifth Element" (In fact, I love that movie) and in "Unbreakable" which, sadly, was an M. Night Shyamalan film. Any other director would have used the plot of the entire movie as the development for the rest of the movie that was missing.

Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~

I like Willis. The 5th Element is a brilliant movie

As is the one where the little guy sees dead people (don't remember the title). Might have preferred somebody else in Willis' part, though. It doesn't really fit him, I think

The fact that Willis used to be a stutterer but fought his way out of it fascinates me

I had forgotten that Willis was in "The Sixth sense." That was a good movie. smiley - ok
