"HAAAAAAUURRGH!" "HEEHEE!"
WHAM!

They collided! A spinning blur slamming hard into Pack's rolling bulk, yelling, scrambling, screaming, slashing. The two fought, skittering and roaring, Spring clawing like a wildcat, but finding Pack unusually hard to claw apart. Pack, his enormous power bearing up against the psycho-attack, rained thunderous blows on an equally unfeeling Spring.

>pam!< >pampampam!<

Rafe leapt aside as the ground erupted in spouts of dust and ricocheting bullets. He just narrowly missed becoming a colander.

"Pity." Recrash said, to one side, holding an extremely well-silenced pistol in a stiff-armed marksman's stance.

"Ah, the good doctor has decided to show himself." Rafe said, rifle lowered. "I suppose this match-up is for the best. Let the maniacs tear each other apart. We shall settle this like gentlemen."

"You're as much a maniac as Spring is." Recrash snarled. "Lower the weapon and we'll let you go."

"Sorry."

TADATADATADADAT!

A quick sweeping burst, and Rafe dove for covered. Recrash, still standing, pressed forward with searching silent shots.

pam! pam!
TADADADAT!

He dove behind cover himself, a huge boulder beside the road. There he tossed aside the exhausted pistol.

"I don't have much respect for your shooting iron, just so you know." Rafe spoke. "I've taken small-calibers before, and they don't slow me much." he discarded the rifle as well, unslinging a sawed-off automatic shotgun.

"Don't worry Rafe."

"Yes, yes." BOOM! BOOM BOOM BOOM!

Searching buckshot peppered Crash's boulder. "Not nice!" he yelled. Then he drew.

BAM! The gunshot roiled over the lonely plain, as the ditch where Rafe was suddenly exploded with a heavy bullet.

Crash swung up again, this time holding two, count 'em, two Desert Eagle .50s, and opened up. Rafe hunkered down as soil spattered his trench coat.

Crash went back down ejecting the clips before him and quickly reloaded. Rafe poked his gun muzzle over the rim and blasted the rock again.

"We could go like this all night," Rafe commented, breathing out the cool night air. The moon shone brightly, and a cool breeze wafted from somewhere, yet the crickets had been silenced by their exchanged.

He reached into a pocket, and withdrew a grenade. He plucked the pin, held it a few seconds, and then hurled it.

"Bye!"

WHOOOM!

The explosion lit the night, throwing up fire and debris, spattering everyone around. Pack noted this as he fought, preoccupied. No time to worry about Crash, he was a survivor. Worry about Spring.

EEEE!

He rushed! Somersaulted onto Pack's chest and nearly knocking him over, drooling and scrabbling at his clothes. His clothes were ripping plentifully, as they wrestled and kicked and scored and bit.

Can't - take - much more - Pack thought. He was tiring, his blows just as sledgehammer-powerful but slowing. He didn't have that artificial boost Spring had.

Boost! Yes! Grabbing Spring by the pack, he got both hands on something metal and-

RRRIIP!

Pull the stimpack apart.

They faced each other now, Pack panting, Spring wheezing, whining,

"Eeeuu"

THUMP!

Collapsing.
