Hi Kat, i would back you up on that one, as i have never had a problem with you visiting the establishment where i am the landlord, and i have also been to other peoples places on here and have had my tag for quite some time now, and never had anybody with a problem with me having it

Hi Kat. It isn't wrong in any reasonable sense of the word to have a tag against your nickname. Some unreasonable people tried to say it was. NB if people post on dna sites other than h2g2 (eg ww2) the inhabitants may find some part of the nickname inappropriate. I don't think that is likely to apply to your current one though.

The thing which people don't seem to understand is that you can't change your tag, post in a thread and then change it back again without all the postings you've ever made, including that one, showing the changes too. Your nickname is not attached to your posts. Your user number is. Whenever someone looks at a page where you have posted, however far back that may be, the server shows whatever your current nickname is. Occasionally a server may be a bit slow to update but in general it is "immediate".

I would have to check the thread (or anyone else could!). At the time I wasn't concerned with which people were ACEs. I was merely asked over there (as a neutral observer?) to try and sort out the confusion and calm things down. It seemed to work but there was obviously a lot of previous history between some posters and now it seems there was also stuff external to h2g2 which has continued.

SEF...But regarding these hidden posts,surely if if more than 1 researcher says its happened etc theres gotta be truth there !!....

It's your nickname, and, if you wish to advertise a club in it, you may do so. As was mentioned earlier, only offensive nicknames, and those containing external URLs, break the House Rules.

If you update your nickname, then all of your posts will automatically show the new name. So there's no point in changing the name between places.

WB, regarding hidden posts (or anything else) it doesn't necessarily require more than 1 person saying it for it to be true. Unfortunately at the moment I don't know what postings we are talking about or even which researchers!

you know very well Loup suggested i didnt mention names as if i had there would of been 'legal implications' (think that was his words), dont think im gonna slip up with your unhelpful comment to this thread, i have been told not to mention names, the italics have the names, its down to them to look into their actions or perhaps you think your better qualified to look into it??

the purpose of this thread is not so i can portray myself as a victim lol im anything but, id like to think i give as good as i get! i wont lie back and let anyone walk over even people who enter this thread in the pretence of being a total stranger to me anyone who's ever chatted to me knows well enough i dont need my pals to jump in and speak for me, or an ace to go throwing his virtual weight about on my behalf, im more than capable of speaking for myself the purpose of this thread is to question the aces code of conduct/how some aces interpret it and to put up a debate, theres people on this site, not just myself that believe some aces carry old grudges and are on some sort of power trip cos they have a title, all im doing here is questioning some aces behaviour, if as ive said, all the aces that believe they have acted appropriately they shouldnt have a problem with this thread, infact i should imagine they'd want to root out any aces that may be acting innapropriately

might i enquire why a number of conversations on your paged vanished 1 night when a certain aces vanished too? (same conversations) just a question

as i recall you approached me on this site 1st but thats not important..you didnt find all my posts humourous? well ok i hold my hands up, you wernt meant to, not all of them anyway but lets face it, we both responded and we both got our posts yikesed for the msgs we left so either of us didnt actually acheive much from chatting lol but lets stick to the facts the problem we had 1st arose in email and if you dont bare any grudges to me i read an email that would beg to differ but since i dont care it dont matter does it lol

well thats your opinion and your entitled to it, interesting how you ran to 1 of them every time i posted to you, the same 1 that helped you with your page, course those conversations have now vanished, another thread i noted where my posts were immediately yikesed (thats not my issue here),), and yours went some time later..funny when both our posts were offensive that mine should go but yours were left till a later date when it was noticed?

yeah i agree, too bad about conversations being unsubscribed to deliberately from aces/researchers (whom the ace had their pw to) pages dont you think? thats really not helped matters at all, certainly not for me anyway, unless those in question wanted to hide something from others in this thread
still at least all aces arent behaving like that

yes i helped lynsey with her page when she was new to h2g2 i think ive already explained this on an earlier post ive also explained why i deleted threads on my old space there was nothing underhanded about it as i feel your trying to suggest
