h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*A robed person is posting signs in all of the cities taverens reading:
"Needed: a group of adventurers for retriving a sacred dagger from a small groups of thievs. Pay is 10 bars of gold, and anything else you take from the thieves.*

The Black Dog Tavern, an establishment frequented by mercenaries and Henchmen for hire.


*The door crashes open due to a storm battering the city. A tall, robed figure moves quietly into the bar and closes the door behind him. The rest of the clientele measure up the tall stranger and the large sword poking out the bottom of his robe.*

*Rama moves to the bar and orders a large flagon of ale. Whilst quaffing this he notices the Wanted board. He moves over to it and starts reading the posted bills.*

From 4pm (GMT) today I will be unable to post again until Monday morning. If you need to make my character do anything please feel free (within reason)

[Mister Zamboni, a mad-looking wizard, is talking with Granny Inquisitor. They're at the projector of a movie theatre]

[Zamboni] So, they're all set there?

[Granny Inquisitor] Yep. And they know what'll happen if they aren't amusing.

[Cut to the theatre itself. Drake, Morgan, Sidney, and Clarissa are sitting in the theatre. The above postings play themselves out on the screen.]

[Drake] So that guy's putting signs in taverns?

[Sidney] Looks like it.

[Drake] Have you any IDEA hoe huge the odds against someone actually PAYING ATTENTION to them are?



MST3K stands for "Mystery Science Theatre 3000", a show in which similar characters heckled (or "riffed") bad movies. I'll be doing that for boffs.

We know what MST3K is


*The Robed figure approaches Sidney slowly.
Drake hears a whisper from behind: "I give you 2:1 against", turns around to look, but there's noone behind him*

*The man speaks in a calm silent voice to Sid, Sidney tried but cannot see the robed face in the dark.*
"You will lead your team and whoever joins you to find the dagger of Isa, You'll need this sword." *Man puts sword on the table, as it touches Sidney's arm, Syd sees the man's face become clear, and all shadows in the room disappear*
"This sword will help you in the caves. This maps leads to the caves from where, hopefully, you will retrive my dagger."
*Man puts map on table*

Hey! No fair affecting the MST'ers!

Drake, Morgan, Sid, and Clarissa are just watching this forum in a movie theatre. And of course riffing it, a la Mystery Science Theatre 3000.

How ANYONE in the forum is interacting with them is totally beyond me. Let's say it never happened, okay?

Howabout we replace "Sid" in Dancer's post with "Darkman Shadow", howabout, then?

If Dancer is willing, yeah.

[regards the man with a stotic expression on his face]

You shall be the one to retrive the dagger. I will watch over you.
You must leave soon.

[Sidney] Otherwise, the robed guy might get bored!

*Dark man leads the way quietly through the north gate, heading toward the distant mountains. after a couple of hours, he walks into the shadows of some tree and disappears*

[Morgan] Huh. I wonder if any of the others were following him.

[Darkman follows him. After a moment he decides to reveal himself to the still-sneaking robed figure.]

You think you can out-sneak me?
