Well I call that a most biased publication, belong as it does to the roaming catholics. 'sides, if i dig down deep enough in Magdala/Thuringia i'm sure to come upon a stone age settlement, which will prove conclusively that the only true Magdala is there. Mind you, if i dig down deep enough in Magdala/Galilea, i'll even more probably come upon a stone age settlement, so i won't dig there and cast aspersion on anyone who does.

Point made her name comes from the town she grew up in. A very normal convention for names of that age(ie Jesus was probably never called Jesus Christ in his life he would have been Jesus of Nazareth or possibly Jesus son of Joseph).

jesus christ would have meant, to the people who heard it at the time 'jesus the oiled-up one'. christos means anointed in greek, but only in the way in which body-builders grease themselves to make them glisten. it might even have had a slight gaqy connotation

i didnt say jesus was gay. i just said that thats what referring to him as christos would have meant to the neutral greek speakers of the time.
