excuse me?

first of all, i'm FEMALE, thankyouverymuch.

second of all, i don't HAVE to prove magick works. i know it does, and that's all that matters. i don't need to prove myself to you.

third of all, cast a spell on you? why? why would i waste my energy on someone who obviously doesn't really care what i think?

fourth of all, seriously, if you don't like the entry, don't read it. this is INFORMATION, not an invitation to attack me. i'm trying not to get insulted by this, because that's what you want me to do. so please, if you don't have anything nice to say, please don't pollute h2g2 with your nastiness.

NYC Student - The innocent looking one =P

Wait, did he use a period in that entire paragraph? No? if I were you, sea, I'd ignore all posts without periods. But then again, that's my humble opinion. smiley - smiley

*sigh* it's so disappointing to me when people do things like this... intolerance just makes me sick to my stomach. this is why there are wars, murders, rapes. it's all about hate and intolerance.

i'm not saying you have to accept my beliefs, just RESPECT them- or at least my right to HAVE them...

Mr Prophet (General Purpose Genre Guru)

Just out of curiosity, does anyone here have a full working knowledge of how a computer works?

More so: Does anyone have a full working knowledge of how gravity works? While the Conservative government might have wanted every fourteen year old to have an education sufficient to crack this riddle of the universe, no one really does, yet gravity is a scientific law.

Now, I'm essentially an atheist, and a rationalist, but in many ways I can't see science as being any less insoluble and arcane than magic (I refuse to use a k), especially since most of the science we learn at school is a pack of lies designed to make it easier.

All we have to go on are results, so that's where I'll usually judge. So while I don't believe that a witch could turn me into a newt or throw deadly elf-bolts from his fingertips, I won't say that their magic is meaningless if it has some value and efficacy for them. You might prefer to call it psychology, but then a lot of psychology has a deeply mystical bent when you get right down to it.

The discussions of this entry are proof that magick works. A while ago I mentioned to sea that absolutely nobody was discussing her entry. It was stuck in 'recommended mode' for a hefty time. Then we two sat down and patiently waited, waiting being a powerful magickal stimulus for things to start happening, and bingo, within a very short period the entry was on the front page and discussions just exploded all over the place!

hooray!

i'm still trying to decide if i would rather have NO discussion or MEAN discussion like the first post in this thread...

prophet: that's a really good way to look at it. i wish more people had that mentality.

sea, did you receive my last email, the one headed 'Religion, values and stuff'? It has a number of points in it that are relevant to the present discussion and it might interest you to compare it to some of the postings here, bearing in mind that I wrote it before these discussions started.
