Because of BBC's Restraints.
A sing a long is a great idea...and perhaps this should be posted somewhere the "newbies" can see it...it gives a good history on what h2g2 was and should be about, which they may not know. ::bangs on her bongos::

I agree - nice song too - but shouldn't we all be singing the same tune? Ah well!

Thank you so much, Taleisin. That is great! I'm going to link to it from My Space.
To show my appreciation, here's a homemade carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Share and enjoy!

Ah, that's better. How'd you know I love cream cheese icing? Psychic?
Glad you like the article, I'll add the URL # to my handle prior to logging off tonight.
Come back and sing along in a day or so, if you like. I'll be adding some footnotes as soon as I can figure out how.
~reaches for another piece of cake~
This is soooo good!

Glad you like it. I'm not psychic as far as I know, but who ~doesn't~ like cream cheese icing?

Thanks for the link to footnotes. I footnoted the thing before I logged off last time. Typed 'footnotes' in the search field and zap, I was there! Really very simple, too.
Problem was I kept forgetting to press the 'change style' button, duh!
Anyway, the notes are footed, so you might want to take a quick look at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/#A528617 , again sometime.

Wahey! What a great song. The original is a fine ditty, but this really gets across what I find wrong with H2G2:TNG
*Sits down and begins to hum wildly out of tune*
~Kazoo?? Gesundheit!!
taliesin Posted Apr 3, 2001
The whole world is watching! The whole world is watching!
~chants~
Just as long as we keep things in perspective... Remember the most important issue here is the reinstatement of the 'Don't Panic' button.
Am I right, Imaldris?
*pulls out a lute...
Din'Amarth Posted Apr 6, 2001
...and stums along with the humming and singing and kazooing and bongoing and all the other such things*
great song. I love it. *is downloading the original off napster*

*bows in stuttering amazement - which is not easy when you try to steal a bit of that cheesecake without being noticed*
What a fab song you've put together there! I'm all for the Don't Panic button, all for the chanting to the judges and all that.
What *really* made me roll on the floor with stomach cramps from howling laughter, though, was the description of lawyers and people who summon them!!!
Now, what key's it in?
*doesn't matter one bit - the only instrument I play well is the CD-player...*
