God is this thing a maze or wot?
Just made it in as a new user today....... feeling kinda stupid that it took me an hour to put a very basic page together! Is this normal, should I be beating myself up about this? Maybe I need to take some annual leave (which by the way I don't think we get enough of in the UK)
anyway - just thought I'd say hi, bonjour, hola, etc, etc

Welcome !!!
The mere fact that you have put your homepage together means you also know how to put together Guide Entries as well !!!
Also, bearing in mind you have posted here, it shows you can use the forums too. So everything from now on is old news...

We could always start talking about Bistroist's lovelife, but I don't think the servers could take the load...

Well...
* HE takes a large breath *
It is claimed that everytime Bistroist leaves his home town crisis lines are jammed solid by young girls in distress.
Economists in Denmark speculate on his movement. Mainly resultant from the time he visited the Greek Islands and rubber shares went up 10%.
In his hometown, town planners have degreed 'Bistro's' to be outlawed. They have found that even this passing reference to such an eating establishment, is grounds for incitment of a rather 'amorous' riot.
BTW This is nothing compare to our humble Community Editor, Peta. I've been around the Universe a couple of billion times, and some of the things she gets up to even make ME blush...!!!
...but I'm sure Abi is about to give you the gossip

Well, hello. Fresh meat here.
And, that brings me to, through an obscure arc of logic (more like pretzel-shaped trajectory; is there a name for that? (apart from drunken airborne insect flight patterns)), to my real question:
Could anyone tell me what the hell the law of diminishing returns is all about?
Thanks

Hello, Fresh Meat.... I mean, Charon
You might try posting your question at 'Ask the h2g2 Community' http://www.h2g2.com/A148907 where I'm sure you'll get tons of answers, some of which might actually address the question.
Then, at some point, the answers will start to lessen in quantity and value due to some law that I forget the name of.

I am here, by Zaphod I am here.. And just in time too. The dolphins are about to leave.. The weekend has landed. All that exists now is clubs, drugs, pubs and parties...I'm gonna blow steam out of my head like a screaming kettle....We're gonna get more spaced out than Neil Armstrong ever did. I'm gonna loose the plot on the dancefloor, I'm gonna talk codshit to strangers all night. The free radicals inside me are freaking man. Anything could happen tonight you know. I've got 73 quid in my back burner, I'm gonna wax the lot. The milky bars are on me!
Have a Nice one Bruvvas!!
BTW
I know why you're here. I know what you've been doing... why you hardly sleep, why you live alone, and why night after night, you sit by your computer....

Heh. I did search for it; I only found a mention of it which gave me an idea by context, but one can't be sure.
Anyways, you sorta confirmed what I thought- thanks. (any chance of getting the complete enunciate, or at least where it is or to what it applies?)
