When you're in a bubble, you're -always- standing on your head, even if you're a mouse.. it's just a question of which way is up/down/sideways...oooohh.. utoh..

*twiddles Babel fish (I refuse to use Universal Translators)*
Should have read 'Are you on the surface yet', ambiguous wording. My fault.

*Opens the bar fridge and removes the bottle of vodka. Pours a . Replaces vodka and closes bar fridge. Sits. Continues to diligently monitor communications. Sips occasionally.*

Yikes! Am I hear all alone? I thought Kes and a few others were close behind me? I wish I were back there with mari-rae
...and her vodka-bottle...

mari-rae(tee reads: (entangled in cardboard boxes, please send tape...) Posted Jan 22, 2001
I heard that, Pierce!! Is is me or the vodka, I'm wondering? Hmmmm? Any sign of Kumabear, btw?
intergalactic slowfood
Kes Posted Jan 22, 2001
CRACKLE! .. Kes here ... the rest of us are just coming up on Pierce's last reported position. No sign of Kuma down here ... There are some vehicle tracks, but they've almost blown away - can't tell what they were. Can you pick up any signals from the soldiers' communicators? Listening for your reply ... Out.

Ah, there you are! Not that I didn't enjoy sleeping here a couple of hours but I felt a slight tremor in the ground 20 minutes ago. Seems like there is something going on in the underground. What is it with these deimosians? Why do they never stay on the surface?
intergalactic slowfood
Kes Posted Jan 23, 2001
Don't know. Maybe it's the climate here. Well, if they're underground, there will be entrances .. and they are going to "leak" some heat. Lety's run an infra-red scan of the surface around here, and see if there are any hot-spots.
*Runs back to transport, and returns with infra-red visors - hands them out*
OK - grid search .. stay in eyeball contact. All back here in 20 minutes ... Go!

Guys .. hey .. Damn!
*Changes channel*
mari - send a signal to everyone - rendezvous at Nonnie's last position right now. Think there's a way in!

*puts on her infra-red visor, then moves slowly in Nonnie's direction*
Hope we get there sooo...Ooops!
*trips over rocks next to Nonnie's hole and discovers a hole of her own*
Maybe that second was a mistake...

I am picking up faint signals from the Deimosians. Sounds like chanting. I'll play it back for you...
O-reoOh oh...O-reoOh oh...O-reoOh oh
That's it.
If you're going underground I won't be able to hear you. Please advise. Over.
*sips*

Linus...42, i guess that makes me the answer... Posted Jan 24, 2001
Pierce, you are so right about the vodka...
I can't believe you didn't modify your suit so you could drink though.
*takes a swig from his VERY cold beer*

Anonymouse Posted Jan 24, 2001
Sounds to me like a railway-building chant.. Or someone has produced too many mis-behaving broomsticks carrying buckets of water.. Either way spells trouble with a capital T.
*ducks for cover*
*whispers in comlink:*
We got bogies at 3 o'clock.

Kes Posted Jan 24, 2001
Understood about the radio signals mari .. We can still hear each other though. I'll call you on the WAP phone if there's anything to report.
*Heads underground .. towards the sound of chanting ... A last message from mari is cut off just as it starts ..*

Mari-rae, I've set up a radio-link at the entrance to this mineshaft (or whatever it is), so you should be able to hear us for a while.
Psst, Linus, don't tell anyone, but I actually did modify my suit. One of the airtanks is actually filled with jynnantonix.
And one of my lungs is modified so I can breathe methane. Don't worry if my face goes
