How the heck do you ever deflower anyone in Washington, if it isn't allowed to have sex with a virgin even in the wedding night? I mean do they drive out of the state pick the cherry and then return, or what? That's ridiculous! Really.

And what about the DC 'face-to-face' law? was this passed by politicians as a way they could deliberately break the law without penalty?

It's obviously a funny thing to say but not true, so it being ridiculous makes sense with the fact that it is inaccurate..

It is, in fact, true that that law still exists. Of course it isn't new or inforced or anyhting... just one of those crazy things from our illogical past that no body has bother tidying up yet.
One source of confusion may be the way the law was worded according to the vocab of the time... often virgin was just used to speak of an unmarried woman.

Actually, I think it is worst in the state of Georgia. There is a law regarding sex between unmarried couples. This law is actually enforced, but only on a selective basis.

well, maybe it's got to do with the holiday industry? If a guy wants sex with his virgin girlfriend, he's got to spend her a holiday somewhere else than Washington. In this way they also avoid being caught red handed by their parents........

Nice theory. As a Christian, I have to live up to strict laws concerning chastity, though I chose to remain celibate a long time ago. However, it's my opinion that people ought to be allowed to do whatever they want to their bodies, no matter what the 'law' thinks about it. What people choose to do in the privacy of their own homes is their business.
However, age concerns abound, I don't think kids as young as 12 should be getting into sex. And I would like an enforced penalty for ouvert sexual activity in the quiet seclusion of, say, the College quadrangle...
Some people seem to think that age isn't a problem. I completely disagree. Ever heard of a guy called Justin the Preacher? Most of ths stuff he says is nonsense, but he got one thing right: paedophilia is a contradiction in terms, because no paedophile truly loves the children they abuse. Age laws are there to protect young people from abuse. People who ignore them are contributing to the continuation of this evil practice by disregarding the laws set up to prevent it.

Do you really HAVE TO LIVE UP to them or didn't you rather choose to abide them in your love to god??????
And I also doubt that what they meant with virgins is the underaged version but rather the married and adult ones ("in Washington state apparrently you are not allowed to have sex with a virgin, even if he/she is married to you" I think was the comment we're referring to).

I totally agree with you about the paedophilia thing.

i agree it is a silly and stupid law but as we all know all lawmakers be they in the house of commons, the house of lords, the sennat or house of representives are silly stupid or more to the point BOTH!!!

I'm fairly sure it's one of those gag laws. The ones that Congresspeople make up as a joke. Like how somewhere it's illegal for a man to walk an alligator who isn't on a leash in a city street while wearing a strapless dress on a Sunday, or something like that.
