How Hati met 2007

Last week has been the usual evil plan of the universe. I burnt my hand, got attacked by a clothes hanger and phone, now on new year's eve I decided to play it safe. I stayed at home for the whole day, didn't do anything dangerous exept some easy cooking and baking. An old friend came over for the night, so with her and my son we had a nice quiet evening.
My hometown had a 10 000 euros worth huge fireworks planned, so we decided to go out to see those. The expectations were not too high as it had been snowing for hours, sleeting actually. Fireworks are not that good in the clouds, you know. Anyway, we went to the town hill to see those.
All the trees and bushes were covered with now. Like one of those sentimental x-mas postcards. However, by midnight it was more like rain than snow, so the snow on the trees started to fall. And of course, as to make a good summary to the year I got a load of snow all over me. All wet! And it was raining, and there was about 20 minutes to wait in the sleet and rain.
Oh well, I was dripping wet but the fireworks were really impressive. Not just a lot of it but also well set and all. The clouds didn't eat up that much of it after all. Exept that with all the sleet coming right into face it was a bit hard to follow.
So, ow my friend left and my son is sleeping and there is a brand new year and all. Nothing bad has happened yet. It must be a good year, it has to be. I keep repeating it, after all I believe in self-fulfilling profecies.
I hardly ever know where my head is but this time I know at least where my heart is.

Happy New Year, Hati. One of the things I'm looking forward to in 2007 is giving you one of these in person.

Happy New Year indeed
Here, as by , the heavy winds and pouring rain subsided while we were out burning off the fireworks. But I got soaked pretty well when I walked Corto around 2:15. Ewww.
Corto, btw, was completely and utterly calm about fireworks. Not a bark or a whimper during all the boom and bang. That is, one - but that was because we'd all gone out and left him in alone... OK!

Corto did great, Santra. You're apparently doing a wonderful job with his training. Well, except for the backpack business the other day.
Hati, is Hapi going to be with you in London? We need to coordinate at least some of our sightseeing days. My friend Xantief from California is planning to be there also. Not sure which days yet. This is going to be so much fun.

Frida had built herself a shelter of all the clothes she could get her paws on and she was quite upset when we returned from the fireworks.
Hapi is going to be in London but I don't know his ideas about the dates. I don't think he'll be there all the time I will.

I'm still working on coming *crosses fingers*
The dishwasher has had the toughest job of all in the household - we were 14 yesterday (½ kids, ½ adults) and three courses so there's been plenty of washing up. I think it's currently on its fifth run
The house now looks like itself - and we are talking about finding beds rather early all 4 of us

There was only 3 of us here and I had a nice long sleep today, so everything is quite the opposite. Exept that I do cross the fingers for seeing you in London.

Oh, I hope so, Santra. Not sure, but I have a feeling this will turn into the largest international meet yet.
Now, I have to go collect my mother.
