No-no, it was for *small* countries, remember. DK, NL, EE... (That would give us a chance to win. smiley - whistle)

I thought Denmark was considered Scandanavian. Sweden, Finland and Denmark.

Usually it's Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Finland is sometimes added due to both geographical position (part of it actually lies on Scandinavian peninsula) and historical (as it used to be part of Sweden at some point). Denmark has only historical reasons, as it is on not on that peninsula at all. Yet the historical and also linguistic background gived DK full reason to be called Scandinavian.
There are also terms like Fenooscandia and Nordic Countries (Estonia has applied for membership in Nordic Council) but that would make it even more confusing.
Ahem..

I think sometimes Iceland is added to Scandinavia - maybe because the five Nordic countries have this council - and a common history - sometimes with a shared king.

Estonia ought to qualify for the Nordic Council - she has been occupied by both Denmark and Sweden for enough years. (smiley - erm)

Average Estonian reasoning on that matter would be: if Finland is accepted somewhere, it would be very unfair to leave EE out smiley - winkeye
