Well, actually, nobody says that in the film so that's smiley - ok...

Far troo hot to sit around yesterday, so hopped off to local flea pit (actually rather nice new designer cinema to Pirates of the Carribean. Splendid fun. Much buckling of swash and a splendidnly hatstand performance from Johnny Depp. Excellent selection of British character actors on show as well. And Geffrey Rush chewing bits of furniture with some delight.

Spent the evening watching Any Given Sunday. Ok-ish but as usual for Stone a bit overblown and silly, and one really does tire of his 'everything was better before Vietnam' attitude.

Good, that's the second good review of Pirates I've had- it can go on the list then smiley - ok

By contast, I ignored all warnings and watched a copy of Charlie's Angels 2 last night. Don't do it. I mean, really. Not even even a cast of pretty women can make this worth watching. IT is quite possibly the worst and most boring film I've ever seen, and I've seen some shxte films.

I didn't bother with the first one, to be honest, so the chances of me seeing the second one were slim to non-existant anyway, but thanks for the heads up.

On due consideration, I am boycotting all films with numbers in and re-makes of tv series for the forseeable future. I mean, if the best we can hope for is American Pie 3, then we really have no hope, do we?smiley - erm

On the other hand the trailer shown yesterday for 'Underworld' made it look thoroughly cheap, trashy and derivative. And it does appear to have Kate Beckinsale in tight leather, so thats four things in it's favour before I even have the faintest ideaof what it's about.

I *liked* the first one- okay, it was never going to win any awards, but it was a amusing way to spend a coupl;e of hours on a Sunday afternoon. The second was almost a parody of the series- pushed a little further, it would have been, and would then have been passable in a Austin Powers sort of way.

Underworld? This I have not heard of....

Neither had I until yesterday but on the strength of Miss Beckinsale's butt in tight shiny leather it's gone reasonably high on my list of films to actually go and see...Shallow? Moi? (Excuse me while I wipe the drool of my desk...smiley - winkeye)

Unlike T£ which still looks like an enormous megabore...

Oh, Keira Knightley is very decorative in 'Pirates...', and does a pretty good job with the swashbuckling as well. Good on that woman! smiley - ok

I saw a trailor for it when I went to see T3. I put it on my list. smiley - ok

BS, did you check out Equilibrium, or haven't you had time? Sorry if that spelling's a bit naff. It's a long word. smiley - winkeye

Seen T3 on DVD. Reasonable, but nothing to write home about. It's not a *bad* film, and it has a cracking ending, but still, not exactly on the 'must see' list.

Beware- pretty things in tight clothing was the sole justification for us watching CA2....

Oh, that one- the vamps v. werewolves. I have heard of that, there's been a few bits in SFX about it. There's a couple of stills in last months issue, it certainly looks reasonable.

Put what on your list? 'Underworld'? Or 'Pirates'? I have to say I think J would get a good laugh out of 'Pirates' - it has a zombie monkey and everything...smiley - biggrin

No time for Equilibrium this weekend, and not likely to have before I go on holiday, Still 2/3 of a project piece to go, and two pieces for the post to fill the holiday gap...smiley - erm

I might try next Saturday when I shall not want to go out owing to flying on Sunday. Even Ed said it was good...

Well if you will take on a Post column and a project, then arrange to bugger off for two weeks, what do you expect?

Tobe honest the Project should have been finished weeks ago. It's beginning to drag now, particularly as the last bit is the least easy to structure sensibly. Hey ho.smiley - erm

(and, to be honest there's still two or three pieces I'd like to include but they will have to wait until I do come back from holiday. Probably.)

The Post column was taken on to put me back in the position where UI was at least writing something regularly. From that point of view it is,a good idea as has so far worked.

Well, this weeks piece is about Kraftwerk. Looking at the official Guide Entry on this most interesting of bands, I was ertainly inspired, yet again, to get off my butt and finish my piece about their albums...

Shazz did mention the Kraftwerk piece might be inline for updating. Frankly it needs to be scrapped and re-done from scratch...

Hmm, might have to pop over and visit update HQ later, if I can find it...

Err, updates at the minute are progressing quite well. I *think* current procedure for a major update is to submit the new version to PR, noting it's an update, then after comments an italic (usually Jimster) says "good o, I'll put it in". I *may* be wrong there though- check with someone else first.

Well, I'm reluctant to do the work and have it just shuffled back in the pack. I'd need to think long and hard about going the update route rather than the 'new entry on a slightly different aspect' route...

I turned down the oppotunity to see Pirates on Satuday night, due to rampaging heat exhaustion. I did feel a bit guilty about it at the time, though.

I saw T3 on a bootleg some weeks ago. It's not bad, but not anywhere near the standard of the first two.

I thought the second one was on of the rankest and most stupid pieces of movie making I ever seen, mate. So 'nowhere near the standard' of that is pretty bad indeed...

Cool cinemas are good for heat exhaustion.smiley - ok
