Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Started conversation Jan 1, 2012
Woke up with a dry throat. Must have had too little to drink last night. This is no way to celebrate my silver jubilee!
*uncorks bottles of and fills glasses for everybody present*
Happy New Year, folks

Thanks, dears
Three lovely ladies in only 31 minutes, must be a new record
This is the third time I am w*rking for this company. They'd better have a damn good reason to fire me now

What are you commemorating with the silver jubilee, Pierce? A long marriage? A long tenure with the company you work for? The discovery of a silver mine in your backyard?

Dear friends, if you think the first morning/noon/afternoon of the new year was hard for you consider this:
Saturday I celebrated New Year's Eve
Sunday I celebrated my silver jubilee
Today I am celebrating my 59th birthday
It's a good thing I have this week off

People ask me why I'm permanently drunk.
I always reply, when you get to my age, waking up alive is a cause for
celebrating.

Mistadrong, I share that sentiment
Also: When you have passed 50 and you wake up without any pains at all you gotta ask yourself: Am I actually still alive?
So far I have been quite lucky - the gout attacks and such are few and far apart - but I guess I have to face the fact that I am not 58 any more
