I'm fed up
Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Oct 6, 2009
There must be something in the air. I am so fed up, I feel like emigrating, but where to and who would have me? I am now the only single adult in my entire family - and I just got drenched to the skin on Tescos carpark loading shopping into the boot and just got home and made puddles in the kitchen while I put sodden groceries away
Plus, I have to go back out at 11pm to collect my son.

Can't help thinking 'Non illigitamus carborundum'.
'Whenever life gets you down, GB,
And things seem hard or tough,
And people are stupid, obnoxious or daft...
You could always try Brentford, 7th November for a laugh'
Open invite!!!

GB, it seems I picked the right time to put the Stargazers thread up on your space. Hope it brings a smile.
For Gnomon too and anyone else who is interested in the Universe

MMF it's Gnomon's journal, not mine, I was just agreeing with him. I can't attend your party - I already told you why
Sorry Gnomon see you soon, I hope

I'm sorry to hear this too, Gnomon. The place won't seem the same without you.

Why was I fed up?
In home life, I had a miserable day on Tuesday - helpfully providing lifts for all my family to different places at different times, I was forced by heavy traffic caused by the incessant rain to arrive late at the car park. Finding it was full, I had to drive home and then walk in the rain myself, arriving in work just barely in time for the meeting I was aiming for, then to discover I had misread the work schedule and I was actually 2 hours late for work.
I also have a number of issues with a relative which I'm not going to talk about here but are a strain on my life.
In tidying the house in preparation for visitors arriving yesterday, I started moving coats around on the coat-rack and the whole thing came out of the wall and fell on the floor - the first time ever that something I put up fell down.
Going to h2g2 to cheer myself up, I find that Opti has left, apparently because nobody was interested in the entries she was putting into Peer Review.
My favourite game on Facebook, Bejewelled, has just been changed - it is now ridiculously easy, so I don't think I'll be playing it again.
So as you see, nothing major but enough to irritate me.
Things are looking up now. The rain has stopped. The people in work survived my arriving 2 hours late. The issue with the relative is looking slightly more hopeful, and I've rehung the coat rack. El had her Debs party yesterday; relatives and friends came around to see her in her Debs dress; she arrive back at 5:30 this morning. And I've asked the eds for a new batch to sub-edit. There's nothing like a bit of sub-editing to keep my mind off other things.

Sighs of relief!
When you say 'nothing major' -it's not always the big crises that finally get you down. Often just little irritations coming one after another are enough to give you a day from hell. You have my sympathy! and you survived to give us you good company again today 'Yay'

It's the "little crises", though, which are often the straw which breaks the camel's back. Which is why we often wonder why some people react so heftily what is, on the face of it, a tiny niggle.
I must admit that I did, whilst reading his post, fleetingly have an amusing picture in my mind of Gnomon sitting on the floor in his hallway, peeping out from a pile of coats and hats...

...and going "dash it all, I can't even have a good session of Bejwelled to cheer me up!"

Gnomon:
Glad that your absence was so temporary, but what's this about Opti?
I don't see any entries of hers in PR. Did she remove them?
